However, due to big waves and strong winds, this morning (September 29), the foot of the dike continued to collapse with a length of about 75m. In this situation, all people in the dangerous area were evacuated.

It is expected that the basic repair work will be completed by the night of September 29. At the same time, the province is also preparing a backup plan such as building sand dikes to contain the damage and reduce the impact on Hai Ninh and Hai Hoa communes.

Encouraging the officers and soldiers present at the scene, the Deputy Prime Minister also reminded the locality to stay calm and correctly assess the situation after storm No. 10 has weakened and the tide has decreased, in order to focus on calculating long-term design solutions. Providing more information at the scene, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep said that the Ministry is implementing the project to consolidate, complete and handle landslides in some northern provinces at Con Tron sea dike, close to Thinh Long sea dike, which has initially shown effectiveness. The current weak section of Thinh Long sea dike is expected to be thoroughly handled in the 2026 period, with synchronous solutions.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the project needs to be designed comprehensively and synchronously to avoid the situation of having some areas strong and some weak.
