On the afternoon of June 28, candidates took the foreign language exam. This is the final exam in the 2024 high school graduation exam. According to experts, the English exam was quite suitable, 30% of the difficult questions were aimed at classifying candidates, mainly in the vocabulary section.

The foreign language groups taking the exam this year include: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean, of which English is the subject chosen by the majority of candidates.

In Ho Chi Minh City, candidates left with an excited mood because the exam was within their ability. Candidate Do Phat at Dong Da Secondary School (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) said: "With the English exam, I think it is not difficult to pass the graduation exam, and to get a higher score depends on each candidate's ability. Personally, I think I did quite well on the exam, I feel very excited."

In general, the exam helps to classify good candidates and the remaining candidates. In the first 15 multiple choice questions, most of them focus on grammar points and general knowledge that students have learned. The two reading comprehension - answering questions have topics quite familiar to candidates, especially the topic of the environment, which is always widely interested and can be an advantage for candidates to do well in this part. However, the amount of difficult vocabulary in the reading will be a barrier and a point to classify good candidates from average - good candidates.

Meanwhile, the reading passages that require filling in the blanks can be difficult for most candidates. The multiple choice sections on conversation, stress, and transcription are familiar sections, and candidates will not spend too much time on these sections. The grammar sections in the multiple choice section as well as the sentence rewriting section will be easy to complete well if candidates have a firm grasp of basic grammar.

The sentence synthesis section with inverted grammar will be for good candidates - these are also the sentences to classify candidates".
