Construction of border school in Buon Don commune begins in October

The leader of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army affirmed that a border school with inter-level boarding schools will be built in Buon Don commune in October 2025.

On the morning of September 15, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, chaired a conference to deploy the investment policy to build a school in the border area.

Specifically, it is the primary and secondary boarding school in Buon Don commune.

According to the decision of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee, Buon Don Inter-level Boarding School will be built in Thong Nhat village, Buon Don commune. The project is expected to start in October 2025 and be completed before August 30, 2026.

The planned land for the construction of this school has an area of ​​about 5.8 hectares, including the following items: learning area - headquarters, dormitory - kitchen, sports - culture, teachers' housing and reserve land. The school is designed to ensure learning for 1,250 students, meeting the needs of the period 2026 - 2030.

Buon Don commune currently has more than 1,780 households, of which poor and near-poor households account for 43.72%. The whole commune has two general schools with 41 classrooms and 1,155 students, of which ethnic minorities account for more than 87%.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van expressed his deep gratitude to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense for their attention and practical support for the difficult area.

"This is not only a school, but also a symbol of military-civilian solidarity, creating conditions for ethnic minority children and students in difficult circumstances to study in the best environment," Mr. Van emphasized.

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan affirmed that the construction of an inter-level boarding school in Buon Don is one of the important tasks of the army in participating in socio-economic development, especially in the field of education.

"Agencies and units urgently focus on site clearance and completing detailed designs to ensure construction starts on schedule," Mr. Tan requested.
