Checking the chain of weight loss facilities accused of charging customers 750 million VND but with no results

The Health Department Inspectorate said that they had inspected and discovered a chain of weight loss service providers that had received many complaints and had continuously changed their operating address after being fined.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health informed that on the afternoon of December 26, the unit received information reflecting the hotline of people related to the weight loss service at address 17 Hoang Du Khuong, Ward 12, District 10.

Two types of businesses are registered here: Le Thu Trang business household and VHAN International Clinic Company Limited.

This is also a new facility that has been inspected by the Department of Health and is compiling records of violations, but continues to receive many complaints from people related to weight loss activities.

At the time of inspection, the Department of Health noted that the facility's operations showed signs of being more sophisticated and had elements of dealing with authorities.

The 6th floor of the facility has a warehouse for common supplies such as laundry detergent, paper towels, and office supplies on shelves.

However, the inspection team discovered a small room designed and camouflaged behind a shelf, containing medical equipment (gauze, needles, anesthetics, fillers, botox...) and cosmetic products.

In particular, a cardboard box containing bags of unlabeled blue-white capsules and blue capsules (brand Oristad 120) was discovered. These capsules were similar to the products reported by people to the Department Inspectorate.

At the time of inspection, the facility could not present invoices and documents for the purchase of the above products.

The delegation noted that at the facility there are many machines using laser and light technology such as: Laser Cavitation Fat System LS650... these machines all have the information "Employees are not allowed to use this machine" sticker.

In addition, the delegation noted that many customers came to complain and request payment for weight loss services.

Through working, it was known that these customers used weight loss services at Dong Yang facility located at 307i Nguyen Van Troi, Ward 1, Tan Binh District.

After learning that the Tan Binh facility had closed, through inquiring about the management at the Dong Yang facility (Tan Binh) working at 17 Hoang Du Khuong, Ward 12, District 10, I came to request a refund of the cost of providing weight loss services with results not as agreed.

It is recorded that some customers have spent up to 750 million VND, 350 million VND for weight loss services.

At the same time, at Tan Binh district, the Department Inspectorate issued a decision to administratively fine Dong Yang International Clinic Company Limited VND 95 million, and suspend the facility's operations for 4.5 months due to many violations.

In addition, when inspecting this facility, the team discovered in the warehouse files and information documents of BB Beauty Company Limited, a facility that also provides weight loss services and was fined 49 million VND by the Department of Inspection for advertising medical examination and treatment services.

The Department of Health continues to verify and clarify violations at Dong Yang (Tan Binh District), BB Beauty and VHAN (District 10) facilities.
