Disciplinary action against teacher who used electric wire to beat 2nd grade student's back

TPO - A teacher at Vinh Tan 2 Primary School (Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province) used an electric wire to beat a second grade student and was disciplined with a "Warning".

On the morning of September 13, Mr. Ly Hong Ngoan - Principal of Vinh Tan 2 Primary School (Vinh Tan Commune, Vinh Chau Town, Soc Trang Province) said that the school's Disciplinary Council had agreed on the disciplinary form of "Warning" for the teacher who used an electric wire to beat a student.

The mark on T.'s back was caused by the teacher.

A few days earlier, information appeared on social networks with pictures of a male student with horizontal marks on his back.

Through verification by the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Chau town, at the beginning of the afternoon class on September 10, during Mr. Lam Thanh's class, student TAT - a student of class 2A3 was joking and talking privately, so he was reminded by the teacher. Despite being reminded many times, student T. still reoffended. At that time, Mr. Thanh was holding an electric wire to tie the windproof curtain, so he used the electric wire to hit the student's back.

When T. came home from school, her family found out about the incident and posted it on social media.

That same evening, school leaders visited T.'s family to ask for their condolences and apologize, hoping that the family would remove the post, but this was not accepted.

The next day (September 11), school and local representatives continued to visit T.'s family to apologize and ask the family to remove the post, but were still not accepted.

On the afternoon of September 12, the Disciplinary Council of Vinh Tan 2 Primary School met and agreed on the disciplinary measure of "Warning" for teacher Lam Thanh.

The leaders of Vinh Tan 2 Primary School said that this morning (September 13), T.'s family sympathized and removed the above post.
