Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture has just organized the opening and selection round of the 2025 Startup and Innovation Competition. The competition is jointly organized by 3 universities: Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture.
Sharing about the competition, Associate Professor Dr. Lam Nhan, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, said that this year's startup competition was jointly organized by 3 universities training in specific fields in the fields of architecture-planning, construction, fine arts, law and culture- tourism ... Notably, this is a startup and innovation competition specifically for the cultural field, held for the first time in Vietnam.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Lam Nhan, the competition not only connects educational, cultural, creative and economic values, but also creates space for ideas on art, architecture, media, tourism, culture, intellectual property, technology and economics to be realized, contributing to sustainable development.
Notably, although it has just been launched, in just a short time, the competition has had more than 100 registered projects, including students from outside Ho Chi Minh City and international students. After intensive training sessions on writing skills, presentation and project video creation, the organizing committee received 74 completed concept designs from the competing teams.
To evaluate the projects, the organizing committee has divided them into 3 professional panels to select, corresponding to the 3 key areas of the competition: culture, economy, and technology. This is to create conditions for the projects to be evaluated in depth, helping to maximize the strengths of each group of contestants.
According to the plan, the competition consists of 3 rounds and after the selection round, 15 excellent projects will enter the semi-finals taking place from July 10 to August 20. The first prize of the competition has a total value of 100 million VND; 2 second prizes, each worth 80 million VND; 2 third prizes, each worth 75 million VND and many other prizes.
The teams that entered the final round were supported by the Organizing Committee to connect with experts to develop innovative start-up projects. The projects that won first, second, and third prizes will be consulted if they want to participate in the "Students with Start-up Ideas" competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
In addition, the winning project will receive support to apply for funding to incubate innovation and start-up projects from the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City with a limit of 40 million VND/project and many other awards.
