For the first time, Vietnam has a nationwide KOL and KOC Alliance.

At the cyber security seminar with the theme "Building digital trust" organized by the National Cyber Security Association on the afternoon of July 28, a representative of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) - Ministry of Public Security said that the alliance dedicated to influential people will be officially launched within the framework of the first National KOL Conference which will take place in August in Hanoi.

During the discussion session at the seminar, experts said that in the context of digital transformation taking place strongly in all fields, influencers (KOL/KOC) are not only famous figures on social networks but are gradually becoming "pioneers" in new media trends. They have the role of shaping thinking, spreading information and inspiring millions of people, especially young people.

In particular, experts also emphasized the role and responsibility of KOLs in the digital age, and shared solutions to help build and promote the positive influences of KOLs, contributing to the development of the country in the era of rising. In addition, the discussion also revealed that there will be a mechanism to gather, build and orient KOL activities in cyberspace.

The rapid development of social networks has posed great challenges in terms of fake news, misleading advertising and deviant content. In many countries, KOL is not only a marketing tool but has become a symbol of “soft power” with influence in society. Therefore, the role of KOL cannot be separated from responsibility. On the one hand, KOL needs to be facilitated to promote positive influence to promote the national economy , culture and media. On the other hand, there also needs to be an appropriate management mechanism to guide behavior, enhance social responsibility and prevent negative consequences caused by deviant content.

In reality, the current legal framework has not kept up with the speed of KOLs' influence, while sanctions are still light and lack deterrence. Practical initiatives to support KOLs and KOCs in developing their talents, creating quality content and avoiding legal risks... although they have begun, have not really spread enough to become the foundation for the healthy development of KOLs and KOCs in Vietnam.

To further promote the important role of KOLs in digital transformation, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention has closely coordinated with the National Cyber Security Association to launch three key initiatives that are preparing to launch at the first National KOL Conference taking place next August. The conference will be a forum for the Vietnamese KOL community, connecting managers, businesses, technology platforms and typical KOLs to discuss solutions for sustainable and responsible development.

The conference will also announce the establishment of the Vietnam KOL Alliance, bringing together reputable KOLs with positive social influence to promote public opinion, fight against misinformation, spread digital safety skills and implement community projects. In addition, launch an action program to promote responsible influence of KOLs through community rules and standards, promote transparency and voluntary self-control of KOLs themselves.

Influencers with their strong influence need to become a pioneering force accompanying the State in maintaining order and social safety in the digital environment. As a specialized force to protect network security, protect national sovereignty in cyberspace, build a safe and healthy cyberspace to serve the protection and development of the country, the Department of Cyber Security and Prevention of High-Tech Crime is ready to accompany organizations, businesses and the KOL community to promote practical initiatives to enhance the role and positive contributions of KOLs to the process of national development”.
