The field of economics has the largest number of candidates for professor and associate professor.

According to this list, there are a total of 744 candidates from the Basic Professor Council, including 79 professor candidates and 665 associate professor candidates.

The passing result of the Industry Council of Professors is 651 candidates, including 60 Professor candidates, 591 Associate Professor candidates (after passing the industry council, 3 Associate Professor candidates submitted their applications to withdraw their applications). Thus, the total number of applications submitted to the State Council of Professors is 648 candidates from 26 industry and inter-industry councils; lacking 2 security and defense industry councils.

The field with the most candidates is economics - 92 candidates, including 6 professors and 86 associate professors (while in 2022 there were only 59 candidates). Next is medicine with 5 professors and 61 associate professors.

The fields with the fewest number of candidates include history-archaeology-ethnology (4 candidates), literature (4 candidates) and linguistics (4 candidates). All three councils have no GS candidates.

Regarding the title of Professor, the two youngest candidates are Doan Thai Son, born in 1984 (Institute of Mathematics - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) and Tran Xuan Bach, born in 1984 (Hanoi Medical University).

For the title of Associate Professor, there are two candidates born in 1990 (33 years old) and in the same field of economics: Le Thanh Ha (National Economics University) and Nguyen Thi Hong Nhan (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics).

It is known that in 2022, 442 candidates were proposed by the Basic Professor Council to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor, and only 383 candidates (34 Professors, 349 Associate Professors) received enough votes of confidence to be proposed by the Industry and Interdisciplinary Professor Council for recognition.
