Floodwaters on the Boi River are forecast to continue rising tonight (September 29), people need to proactively take measures to ensure safety.
According to the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, at 1 p.m. on September 29, the water level of the Boi River at Hung Thi station was 11.1m, 1m above alert level 1. By 3 p.m. the same day, the water level of the Boi River rose to 12.62m, 1.62m above alert level 2. By 4 p.m., the water level continued to rise to 13.5m, 0.05m higher than alert level 3.
With heavy rain forecast to continue, by 7 p.m. on September 29, the water level on the Boi River is likely to rise to 15.5 meters, 2.5 meters above alert level 3.
Rising river water levels are likely to cause flooding in some riverside areas and residential roads in the communes of Hop Kim, Kim Boi, Dung Tien, An Binh, An Nghia, and Lac Thuy. Heavy rain with high intensity, high risk of flooding with depths of 0.2 - 0.5m, higher in some places.
Floodwaters can cause riverbank erosion, flood crops, affect constructions, aquaculture facilities, and sand and gravel mining and gathering and transfer activities along the river. People need to proactively respond to natural disasters to ensure the safety of life and property.
