An effective beekeeping model of a veteran

After much thought, veteran Nguyen Nhu Nhung realized that his hometown had the advantage of large hills and orchards, surrounded by many fruit trees and timber trees, which was very suitable for beekeeping. Thinking so, in 2013, he started his business with 3 bee boxes and persistently researched documents, learned from the experiences of other beekeepers, and attended training courses to learn beekeeping techniques. Veteran Nguyen Nhu Nhung shared his experience: “The period from July to November of the lunar calendar is an important period, beekeepers must take good care of the bees, supplement pollen and reserve honey for the bee colonies to develop healthily and produce high productivity.”

From the initial 3 beehives, up to now, CCB Nguyen Nhu Nhung's bee colony has grown to more than 300 beehives, producing stable, high-quality honey. Every year, he collects about 2,000 liters of honey at a selling price of 250,000 VND/liter, after deducting expenses, his income reaches nearly 400 million VND. In 2024, his family's honey product branded "Nghi Van Honey" was recognized by Nghe An province as meeting 3-star OCOP standards. This is an important milestone, affirming the reputation, quality and potential for sustainable development of beekeeping in Van Kieu. In addition to collecting honey, when the bee colony grows strongly, CCB Nguyen Nhu Nhung also provides bee breeders to people, bringing in more than 200 million VND in revenue each year. Not only successful in economic development, veteran Nguyen Nhu Nhung is also an exemplary cadre, having held many positions such as commune People's Council delegate, hamlet chief of hamlet 13... In any position, he always promoted his sense of responsibility, dedication to work, and excellently completed assigned tasks.

He is also very enthusiastic in sharing experiences, supporting members and people to develop the profession, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the locality”.
