Muong Khuong: Fresh tea bud output reached more than 25.7 thousand tons

The total output of fresh tea buds harvested in the first 6 months of the year in Muong Khuong district reached more than 25.7 thousand tons, an increase of nearly 43% over the same period and equal to 56% of the yearly plan.

Muong Khuong is currently the locality with the largest tea area in the province, with 5,840 hectares, of which commercial tea is 3,650 hectares, basic construction tea is 1,796 hectares, and newly planted tea in 2024 is 394 hectares.

Since the beginning of the year, farmers in Muong Khuong district have harvested more than 25,700 tons, an increase of nearly 43% over the same period last year. With an average selling price of 6,000 VND/kg, farmers earned over 154 billion VND.

Fresh tea bud output increased sharply due to favorable weather this year and many newly planted tea areas entering a strong growth period, giving high yields.

To increase the value of tea trees, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Muong Khuong district coordinated with Muong Khuong Tea Cooperative to organize the production of 100 hectares of tea meeting organic standards, and plans to continue to expand the area of ​​organic tea in the coming time.

Since the beginning of the year, Muong Khuong farmers have harvested more than 25,700 tons of fresh tea buds.

In addition, encourage the expansion of tea growing areas in mountainous communes with room for expansion, such as Tung Chung Pho, Ta Ngai Cho, Din Chin, etc.; reorganize production and consumption according to the model of linking individual production households into cooperatives and groups; continue to guide people in taking care of newly planted tea trees and maintain training on techniques for planting, caring for, and producing safe tea.
