NAPAS and partners promote a sustainable digital payment ecosystem

(Chinhphu.vn) - NAPAS's 2025 Customer Conference in Hoi An honored more than 40 outstanding payment intermediaries. The event recognized the industry's outstanding results and opened up a direction for sustainable cooperation in developing a digital payment ecosystem.

Legal framework to promote the market

On September 19 in Da Nang City, the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) organized the 2025 Customer Conference, an annual event to honor and thank payment intermediaries (TGTT) that have made many contributions to the system.

The conference was attended by the NAPAS Board of Directors and more than 40 member units in the network. This is an opportunity for all parties to share opportunities and discuss sustainable development orientations in the context of many economic changes.

In 2024, the Government issued Decree 52/2024/ND-CP on non-cash payments, and the State Bank issued Circular 40/2024/TT-NHNN on the provision of intermediary payment services. These two documents are considered an important legal foundation to help payment intermediary units expand their operations, develop services, and improve safety and transparency.

NAPAS representative said that completing the legal corridor will contribute to creating a healthy competitive environment, while supporting users to access modern payment services.

Digital transactions make a strong breakthrough

According to the State Bank, in the first 7 months of 2025, non-cash transactions increased by 44.4% in quantity and 25.04% in value compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, transactions via QR codes increased by 66.73% in quantity and 159% in value.

These figures show that the trend of cashless payments is increasingly evident, contributing to the formation of new consumer habits and creating a solid foundation for the development of the digital payment ecosystem.

Over the past year, NAPAS and TGTT units have deployed many services to meet the diverse needs of users such as: Money transfer via e-wallet; VietQRPay payment at domestic acceptance points; VietQR Global serving international customers; NAPAS Apple Pay, Tap and Pay; Payment for public transport via metro, bus

These services contribute to diversifying payment methods, while affirming NAPAS's efforts in promoting digital payment infrastructure.

In the coming time, NAPAS will continue to promote the development of a digital payment platform (NAPAS Digital Payment Platform) to support card payments, accounts, e-wallets, QR, etc. on online transaction channels and payment acceptance points, helping to optimize user experience. At the same time, NAPAS and payment acceptance points will coordinate to expand the network of payment acceptance units, focusing on developing a network accepting payment by VietQR Global code to serve international customers.

NAPAS commits to continue to closely coordinate with payment intermediary organizations in deploying effective services, promoting interconnection, connection, and safety in the system, promoting the role of a reliable bridge between the Bank and payment intermediary organizations. At the same time, NAPAS believes that the cooperation of the units will create an open playground - where payment intermediary organizations can cooperate, develop, and bring superior payment solutions to customers.

The highlight of the conference was the Ceremony to honor outstanding TGTT units in 2025. The awards were given based on the criteria of transaction growth, online payment efficiency and dynamism in service deployment.
