According to the economic daily Maeil Kyungjae on September 18, on September 16, Korean social networks spread an article titled "Embarrassing scene at Da Nang airport waiting room", with pictures of some tourists comfortably at home, taking off their shoes, and putting their bare feet on the sofa or table in the waiting room of Da Nang international airport.

"I saw a group of people who looked like Koreans with their feet up on chairs to sleep. Some even put their feet up on the dining table and lay down," the poster said.

"There weren't many foreigners in the waiting room, but almost everyone present looked puzzled.

As a Korean, I felt hot with shame in front of the Vietnamese staff.

Traveling can be tiring and requires rest, but in public spaces, one must still maintain politeness," this person wrote.

They expressed hope that Koreans would become polite tourists and behave well everywhere.

Da Nang has long been a favorite destination for Korean tourists, even jokingly called "Da Nang city of Gyeonggi province".

Last month, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also organized the "Korean Tourist Appreciation Week 2025" when the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam exceeded 1 million.
