Comrade Hoang Van Phuong, Chairman of Dai Son Commune People's Committee, said that at around 9:00 a.m. on August 19, floodwaters poured in from upstream, then rose very quickly, causing the spillway connecting to Moi, Non Ta, Dong Bam, and Dong Cao villages to be deeply flooded.
Authorities placed warning signs in areas where the water was deep. |
This is the main road connecting the villages with the commune center; the flood caused more than 150 households in the above villages to be isolated. The Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Dai Son commune has assigned officers in charge of the villages to directly inspect and direct the response work. Currently, the functional forces have placed danger warning signs, and at the same time increased information through the grassroots radio system and Zalo groups to notify people not to go through the tunnel; request not to collect firewood or fish in rivers and streams when there is a flood.
Tuan Dao commune authorities put up warning signs in dangerous areas. |
In addition, due to the impact of heavy rain upstream and the prolonged rain from the afternoon of August 18 to this morning, some spillways connecting villages in Tuan Dao commune were also deeply flooded. To ensure administrative work requirements according to regulations, many commune officials living in the flood-affected areas had to travel by other routes with a distance of dozens of kilometers.
At flooded areas, the commune has set up barriers and placed warning signs; directed functional forces to continue to inspect, grasp the situation, and be ready to support the movement of people and property to safe locations if the flood continues to rise. Currently, localities have not recorded any damage to people or property.
Floods caused local isolation in some villages in Dai Son commune.
