Female teacher 'forced' out of classroom: Latest information

On the morning of November 3, a private source of VTC News reporter at Hai Ba Trung High School ( Hue City, Thua Thien - Hue Province) said that yesterday (November 2), the school's Disciplinary Council had just met and announced the decision to handle those involved in the case of teacher Ho Thi Tam (a Literature teacher currently working at Hai Ba Trung High School) being "forced" out of class by a male colleague named Nguyen Duc Phong (Head of the National Defense Physical Education Group of Hai Ba Trung High School) in October 2022, causing a stir in public opinion for a long time.

The source said that the Disciplinary Council was chaired by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Phuong - Vice Principal of Hai Ba Trung High School. The reason is that Mr. Ngo Duc Thuc - Principal of Hai Ba Trung High School and 2 other Vice Principals, Mr. Tran Khanh Phong and Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh, are responsible according to the Inspection Conclusion of the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien - Hue No. 2743/KL-SGDĐT dated September 23, 2023.

At the meeting, the Disciplinary Council of Hai Ba Trung High School decided to handle the case by giving a warning to Ms. Ho Thi Tam and a reprimand to Mr. Nguyen Duc Phong.

Previously, at the end of October 2022, public opinion in Hue City (Thua Thien - Hue province) was very indignant and upset with a clip recording a male teacher performing "indecent" actions with a female colleague at school.

The 18-second clip shows a female teacher in an ao dai, carrying a handbag, but a man loudly shouted at her, "locked her arms" and pushed her out of the classroom. It is known that the incident happened at Hai Ba Trung High School (Hue City) during the Saturday class (October 22, 2022).

After the press published the story, on the afternoon of October 27, another 32-second video appeared, believed to be related to the incident.

According to this clip as well as the accounts of witnesses, the incident happened when Ms. D. (homeroom teacher) and 10th grade students of Hai Ba Trung High School were in their Saturday activity period when Ms. Ho Thi Tam rushed into the classroom and interrupted the activity with words and actions.

Notably, while appearing in the class headed by Ms. D., the female teacher named Tam also used her phone to film the classroom and the students.

At this time, Ms. D. invited Ms. Tam to leave the classroom, but she refused to leave. Therefore, Ms. D. went outside to find someone to help handle the situation. Ms. D. called Mr. Phong to advise her, but he was unsuccessful. Then, Mr. Phong locked her arms and pushed Ms. Tam out of the classroom in front of the students.

It is known that before the incident, some students and parents of this class complained about changing Ms. Tam (Literature teacher) because the way she taught the lesson was not understandable to the students. Therefore, during the class meeting, Ms. Tam came in to ask for clarification, causing a commotion.

Regarding this incident, on February 2, the Party Cell of Hai Ba Trung High School issued a decision to discipline teacher Ho Thi Tam with a reprimand from the Party. According to the inspection results announcement of the school's Party Cell, this teacher violated many things that Party members are not allowed to do, such as spreading false information, violating democratic regulations, being dishonest, and slandering.

However, later, the Party Cell met and voted unanimously to temporarily revoke the Party disciplinary reprimand against Ms. Ho Thi Tam. The reason for the temporary revocation was to supplement a number of documents and procedures in accordance with Party regulations based on the guidance of the Hue City Party Committee's Inspection Committee. At the above meeting, Ms. Ho Thi Tam was absent due to health reasons.
