After Tuoi Tre Online published articles related to Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue, the female vice principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School ( Quang Tri ) in the case of 40 students being poisoned and hospitalized, thousands of readers expressed their outrage at the behavior of this female vice principal.

Readers not only reacted to Ms. Hue's refusal to take the poisoned student to the hospital, but were also outraged by the way the vice principal explained.

"The emotionless female vice principal"

Previously, 40 students of this school were hospitalized due to food poisoning after eating banh tay (a type of cake made from sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves) for breakfast. Many students said that banh tay has a sour smell and is watery when eaten.

Many times before, students had eaten this type of bread for breakfast and also had stomach aches but not enough to have to go to the hospital.

At the time of the poisoning, there were about 10 students in the medical room because of symptoms of stomachache and vomiting. The clip filmed in the medical room shows Ms. Hue instructing not to take the students to the hospital.

Specifically, after the school health staff's request (to the principal and vice principal) to take the students to the hospital, Ms. Hue said: "Please leave them where they are. I can confirm 100% that they are fine. Do not take them to the hospital. As the principal and vice principal, we have to handle the work. The students are fine. Leave them there. There is no problem at all."

It was not until more than an hour later, when dozens of parents heard the news that their children were poisoned and rushed into the medical room to put pressure, that Ms. Hue agreed to take the students to the hospital.

A reader said that the vice principal's behavior was insensitive. "Why could the vice principal be so insensitive to the students suffering from food poisoning, showing symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, and stomachache, but still prevent medical staff from taking them to the hospital?", the reader said.

Many people think that medical staff are professionals, but when suggesting taking students to the hospital, the vice principal refused, proving that the vice principal is disregarding the students' lives.

"The vice principal's refusal to let the student go to the hospital for treatment of poisoning is a mistake. If the student is seriously poisoned, it will affect his health and life. This action is a disregard for the student's life," said To Hoc Tuan indignantly.

Wrong and still making excuses

After the recording of the incident of preventing the poisoned student from being taken to the hospital was made public, readers became even more outraged by the vice principal's explanations.

Ms. Hue explained that it was not that she did not allow the student to be taken to the hospital, but that she was waiting for a car to come and take the student to safety.

Reader Duong Duc Tho believes that with what the vice principal said that was recorded, the reason she gave at this time was just a "cover-up", dishonest and lacking the courage of a leader and manager, daring to do but not daring to take responsibility.

A reader said that Ms. Hue was wrong and still made excuses. "I request that the authorities step in to clarify the irregularities behind the students being poisoned but not being taken to the hospital. A delay of one second could cost a person's life," said this reader.

Vice principal is "bigger" than principal?

This is the question that many readers wonder when they see that the vice principal is the one who decides many important matters even in the presence of the principal.

"Is this vice principal bigger than the principal that she makes decisions that the principal must obey?", a reader said.

It was not until the Kim Thuy commune authorities confirmed that the principal was the vice principal's uncle that many people understood the reason. "How can we be fair when people from the same family are managers in the same unit?", a reader asked.
