Reporting at the congress, Ms. Nguyen Minh Phuong - member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy - said that in the past term, 31/34 targets were achieved.
Of which, the scale of postgraduate training increased by 159% and 21 new postgraduate training majors were opened; the proportion of lecturers with postgraduate qualifications reached 88.7%, lecturers with doctoral qualifications accounted for 32.1%; and the number of lecturers with doctoral qualifications was included in 4 rankings of Asian health universities...
The political report at the Party Congress of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (term 2025-2030) continues to determine the action motto to build the school into a national key university; increase the training scale for international students; strive to become a top university in the field of training and health sciences in Asia by 2045...
At the congress, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health - emphasized that the Ministry of Health highly appreciates the ability to inherit and promote values from previous generations of the Party Committee leaders of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy; affirming the position of the school in training high-quality medical human resources for the region and the whole country, as well as for some neighboring countries in the region.
He suggested that in the next term's targets, the school's Party Committee should focus on exploiting specific tasks such as: increasing the target for training international students, having a coordination program and contributing to the development of the locality where the school is located; promoting the establishment of a branch in Kien Giang (old) according to the approved project.
Regarding professional criteria, the school should include the goal of promoting the establishment of a medical examination and certification center for the entire region; a computer simulation training center and a modern model following current medical training facilities...

The Party Congress of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy elected a 21-member Party Executive Committee (term 2025 - 2030). Ms. Nguyen Minh Phuong - Chairwoman of the University Council - was re-elected as Secretary of the Party Committee for the new term; Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Principal of the University - holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
