This is the content discussed by scientists and experts at the National Scientific Conference with the theme "August Revolution and National Day September 2: Contemporary values and everlasting vitality" recently held.

The workshop discussed, exchanged and clarified the contemporary value and everlasting vitality of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, and at the same time proposed orientations and solutions for Vietnam to develop rapidly and sustainably in the new era.

Discussing the topic "Historical significance of the August Revolution 1945 and National Day September 2", Senior Lieutenant General, Dr. Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense presented the paper "The August Revolution, the initial steps in building the armed forces according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology - effective preparation for the two resistance wars and the current cause of defending the Fatherland".

According to Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, in August 1945, the revolutionary armed forces, built from the people and fighting for the people, became the core of the General Uprising.

Ho Chi Minh's thought on building the armed forces - consisting of three types of troops, closely connected with the people, under the absolute leadership of the Party - has brought into play great strength, contributing to decisive victory. The lesson of maintaining the Party's leadership, solidarity, discipline and close attachment to the people continues to be the guiding principle for the cause of defending the Fatherland, building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern armed force.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, delivered a speech with the theme "The success of the August Revolution in 1945 - a shining manifestation of the proactive and creative spirit of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh"; affirming that since the 1920s, Nguyen Ai Quoc had proactively absorbed Marxism-Leninism, creatively spread it into the patriotic movement, and put the task of national liberation first. For 15 years (1930-1945), the Party flexibly adjusted its strategies, expanded the united front, combined political and armed struggles, and created momentum and strength for the uprising.

The 8th Central Conference (May 1941) was the pinnacle of proactive and creative thinking, leading to the lightning victory of the August 1945 General Uprising. The lesson of steadfastness in goals, proactive response, and creativity in action remains valuable in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today.

In his speech on the topic "The August Revolution and the establishment and construction of a democratic and legal republic in Vietnam: From historical reality to contemporary vision", Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Tung, former Director of the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Sciences, emphasized that the birth of the provisional government after the August Revolution demonstrated the principle of democracy and the rule of law, and needed the approval of the National Assembly and the Constitution to have legitimacy.

From the proposal of President Ho Chi Minh at the first meeting of the Government (September 3, 1945), the General Election on January 6, 1946 established the 1st National Assembly, passed the 1946 Constitution, ensuring that power belonged to the People, fully recognizing basic freedom and democracy. The 1st National Assembly also demonstrated flexibility when reserving seats for other parties to consolidate the great national unity bloc, leaving valuable lessons for the current work of building and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law State.

Today's youth are like the green trees in the forest of 55 million Vietnamese workers and let's leave the country 55 million green trees for the next generation so that the country will last forever.

Today's young generation should learn about the world, grasp firmly the opportunities that the world and the times are creating to be able to catch up with advanced, civilized countries and perhaps surpass some fields. Only then can we enter the era of national growth, standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents.
