This morning, March 18, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, chaired the first meeting of the Government's Steering Committee on Science , Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06. Attending the meeting at Son La bridge point were comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, Digital Transformation and Project on Development of Population Data Applications, Electronic Identification and Authentication to Serve National Digital Transformation of Son La Province; leaders of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities.

Before the start of the Session, authorized by the Prime Minister, the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology announced the Prime Minister's Decision on the establishment of the Government's Steering Committee on Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06. The Steering Committee has the function of researching, proposing to the Government and the Prime Minister and assisting the Government and the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating the implementation of policies, strategies, mechanisms, policies, national-scale solutions for science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, implementation of Project 06 and administrative reform.

With the drastic and close direction of the Government and the Prime Minister , in recent times, ministries, branches and localities have made many efforts to both streamline the apparatus and carry out the tasks of implementing Resolution No. 57 and Resolution No. 03, and have achieved some remarkable results. As of March 16, 2025, 04 ministries and 37 localities have established/completed the Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development. Investment, development and completion of infrastructure for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation have been given attention; The rate of mobile phone subscribers using smartphones reached 89.6%; The rate of households using fiber optic cable reached 83.3%; More than 87 million chip-embedded citizen identification cards have been issued; The number of activated user accounts on the VNeID application is over 55.25 million.

In addition, human resource development to serve the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; the application of science, technology and innovation in the activities of agencies in the political system; and science, technology, innovation and digital transformation activities in enterprises have also achieved important results./.
