Review of the organization of the first Peace Festival

This afternoon, February 23, the Provincial People's Committee worked with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) and related departments, branches and units to review the organization of the first Peace Festival in 2024. Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Minh Tuan said that implementing Plan 233/KH-UBND dated December 10, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the first Peace Festival in 2024, the department has focused on deploying preparation work.

Specifically, the script and framework program have been developed for the following activities: Cycling Day for Peace, from June 29-30; Opening of the Festival for Peace at 8:00 p.m. on July 6 at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai special national relic; Music exchange "Melody of Peace" on July 8 at the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center; Cultural - Culinary Festival from July 12-14 at Cua Viet Beach Tourist Area; "Peace Wish" program at 8:00 p.m. on July 26 at the Flower Dropping Wharf on the North bank of Thach Han River and the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel special national relic...

Along with that, the Department of Staff drafted a decision to establish the Festival Organizing Committee and 4 sub-committees including: content, propaganda, security and order and logistics with specific and detailed members and tasks; a plan to assign specific tasks to departments, branches and localities. Advised the Provincial People's Committee on working with central ministries and branches such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance , the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Vietnam Bishops' Council, the People's Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to support the organization of the festival.

Advise on documents sent to Thanh Nien Newspaper requesting support for communication and organization of Cycling Day for Peace; invitation letters and organizing work with agencies and units to implement consulting, connecting and supporting activities for organizing the festival.

Coordinate with Sun Bright Creative Arts and Events Joint Stock Company to develop a communication plan and festival identity. Coordinate with Vietnam Travel magazine to develop a plan to organize the Cultural - Culinary Festival and international kite show.

Coordinate with the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to survey locations where activities are expected to be held, important historical relics, and planned locations throughout the province to unify proposals for renovation and refurbishment of necessary items to serve the festival, with funding from the provincial budget and socialized funds...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam acknowledged and highly appreciated the careful preparation of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the companionship with the province in the events of Sun Bright Art Creation and Event Joint Stock Company.

Affirming that the Festival for Peace is the largest festival in scale, magnitude and expectation ever. Therefore, it is necessary to arouse the participation of the whole society; the contribution, role and responsibility of everyone and to make everyone understand the value of living in peace.

Therefore, it is recommended that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continue to review the composition and assignment of sub-committees; the Festival Organizing Committee advises on working regulations to unify leadership and direction of festival activities. Clearly define the specific roadmap of activities from now until the festival is held. Note to urgently work with the focal units organizing festival activities.
