According to Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee, upon receiving the information, the Ward People's Committee, the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department, the Public Service Supply Center, and the Head of Tan Tich Hamlet conducted a survey of the landslide location. The initial cause was determined to be that the landslide location was located next to Tien River, which is in an area of frequent landslides. Now, due to the impact of heavy rain combined with high tides during the flood season, the landslide occurred.
According to Vice Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee Vo Truyen Thong, the landslide area is about 2,000 m2, the landslide damaged 6 houses, causing estimated damage of over 2 billion VND. To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the Ward People's Committee has banned landslide warning signs; mobilized local forces to support 6 affected households to dismantle and move their houses and property to a safe place.
It is forecasted that the above area will continue to suffer landslides during this year's flood season, especially in the coming days, when water from upstream flows strongly combined with high tides, the water level continues to rise and recede.
Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee proposed that the Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinate with provincial departments and branches to survey and record the actual situation to advise the Provincial People's Committee to assign relevant branches to take urgent measures to immediately respond to and overcome the above-mentioned landslide area (implementing reinforced concrete pile embankment) and support affected people who have to relocate their houses.
