(Baohatinh.vn) - To ensure safety for students and traffic participants, from the beginning of the new school year, authorities and schools in Ha Tinh have had many positive solutions.

Hung Dong Secondary School (Thanh Sen Ward) is located in an area with heavy traffic, many construction projects, etc., so it has many potential risks of traffic safety. Therefore, right from the beginning of the school year, the school has coordinated with the Traffic Police Department - Ha Tinh Police to organize propaganda on the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety for students to help them understand the provisions of the law, and at the same time equip them with skills to ensure safety when participating in traffic.

Le Thi Ha Tien, a 7C student at Hung Dong Secondary School, said: “Through today’s propaganda session, I have a better understanding of traffic signs, how to handle unexpected situations on the road, and common mistakes that students easily make. I feel that I need to be more serious when participating in traffic, not only for my own safety but also for the responsibility to others.”

Ms. Luong Thi Hong Lam - Principal of Hung Dong Secondary School said: "We do not just stop at one-time propaganda, but will integrate traffic safety content into flag-salute activities, extracurricular activities, and traffic law competitions throughout the school. In addition, the school will also organize a commitment signing with parents and classes on strengthening coordination between the school and parents in ensuring traffic safety."

Determining that traffic safety education for students plays an important role, since the beginning of the school year, the Traffic Police Department - Ha Tinh Provincial Police has organized propaganda for more than 15,000 students, teachers and university students in various forms at all levels.

“One of the common violations among students is driving electric motorbikes when they are underage. The main reason is that they do not clearly distinguish between electric motorbikes and electric bicycles, or do not fully understand the law, leading to many violations. This is one of the contents we focus on propagating at the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026,” said a representative of the Propaganda Team, Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Police.

Middle and high school students often have many changes in their psychology and physiology. Many students like to show off, assert themselves, and stand out, so when participating in traffic, they often line up side by side, do not wear helmets, speed, and overtake recklessly... without regard to the dangers and consequences.

Faced with the complicated situation of traffic safety violations among school-age children, a number of schools in Ha Tinh have proactively implemented the model of "Safe, friendly, civilized school gates" to raise awareness of compliance with the Law on Order and Traffic Safety for students right from the school gate.

Mr. Tran Hao - Principal of Dong Loc Secondary School said: "The school is located on National Highway 15B, where traffic density is high, so to ensure the safety of students, the school has established a volunteer shock team, organized instructions, reminded students to wear helmets properly, and to drive in the correct lane when going to and leaving school."

In addition to students moving by themselves, the service of picking up and dropping off students at schools is also quite popular. According to statistics, in Ha Tinh there are about 100 vehicles to pick up and drop off students. In the past, there have been cases of drivers carrying too many students, and the vehicles are not guaranteed. Therefore, from the beginning of the school year, schools that use vehicles to pick up and drop off students have proactively worked and signed contracts with reputable transport units to ensure the safety of the students' journey.

Ms. Tran Ly Na - Vice Principal of Trung Kien International Kindergarten said: "Currently, the school has 3 vehicles to pick up and drop off students. To ensure the safety of the students, on each trip, teachers are responsible for taking attendance and guiding students on and off the bus according to the correct procedures. All drivers have undergone specialized training courses on driving skills to pick up and drop off children and handling emergency situations. Currently, the school is also repainting the vehicles to the correct color."

The tightening of student transportation has been implemented by Trung Kien International Kindergarten since the beginning of the school year.

Although all levels, sectors and functional forces have synchronously deployed many solutions, in reality, violations of the Law on Traffic Order and Safety are still recurring, and many tragic accidents still occur. Therefore, in addition to the synchronous participation of relevant sectors, an indispensable factor is the attention and education of parents. Parents and grandparents who set an example in obeying traffic laws and behaving civilly when participating in traffic will be an example for children to follow.
