At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Dien Bien province, comrade Mua A Son reported on the socio-economic development situation, ensuring national defense and security in the first quarter of 2024; the business activities; preparations for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. Accordingly, the economy of Dien Bien province continues to grow, the basic socio-economic development targets are all achieved and exceeded the plan. The GDPRP in the first quarter of 2024 in Dien Bien province increased by 6% over the same period last year. By well organizing and implementing the activities of the National Tourism Year, the number of tourists to the locality in the first quarter reached over 440,600, revenue from tourism activities reached over 777 billion VND. Administrative reform continues to be improved; national border sovereignty is maintained; political security is stable, social order and safety are ensured.
Currently, Dien Bien province has 8 state-owned enterprises, with a total charter capital of 1,870 billion VND, of which the total state capital invested in the enterprises is 1,800 billion VND. The production and business efficiency of most state-owned enterprises in the province is low, some enterprises have profits on the invested equity capital but at a very small rate.
Regarding the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, Dien Bien province has focused on leading and directing relevant sectors, localities and agencies based on the content of the Project to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the functions and tasks of each agency and unit to proactively develop plans, coordinate and organize implementation to ensure the requirements and progress set out.
Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong emphasized: This is an important event in 2024 - the year of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. Through the signing ceremony, Dien Bien province has more motivation and opportunities to strengthen cooperation and coordination in disseminating and implementing the Party's resolutions in the leadership and direction of enterprises as well as in propagating the Party and State's guidelines. The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Central Business Bloc Party Committee to continue to pay attention, have programs and plans to mobilize resources to promote socio -economic development, ensure national defense and security of Dien Bien province, as well as coordinate in organizing and implementing contents on Party building, building clean and strong government and organizations.
Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc Nguyen Long Hai hopes that the Party Committees under the Bloc will continue to pay attention to the development potential of Dien Bien province. Focus on leading the grassroots party organizations under the Bloc, branches, and member companies to promote production and business activities. Promote social security activities through the activities of socio-political organizations and branches to support the target program of poverty reduction, new rural construction... in Dien Bien province.
With a spirit of high unity, Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee and the Central Business Bloc Party Committee signed a work coordination program for the period 2024 - 2029.
