Tay Ninh sets growth target for region I in 2025 at 4.3% or more

Tay Ninh province has set a target of achieving a growth rate of 4.3% or higher in sector I (agriculture, forestry and fishery) in 2025. To achieve this target, the province has set out a number of key tasks and solutions for implementation.

Accordingly, Tay Ninh set a target of rice output in 2025 of over 4.13 million tons, of which high-quality rice accounts for 70% or more. Other key crops include: 2.19 million tons of cassava, 189,000 tons of rubber, 216,000 tons of dragon fruit, more than 213,000 tons of lemon, nearly 40,000 tons of durian, 82,500 tons of jackfruit, 33,500 tons of pineapple, over 578,000 tons of vegetables, etc.

In the livestock sector, the province strives to achieve a total output of 279,600 tons of fresh meat (including 18,600 tons of fresh meat from buffalo and cows, 131,000 tons of pigs, and 129,000 tons of poultry); 84,000 tons of milk; 1.8 billion eggs; and 14 tons of bird's nest.

Regarding aquatic products, the output of aquaculture and exploitation reached about 174,800 tons, of which tra fish was 126,000 tons and farmed shrimp was nearly 20,000 tons.

In addition, the province will plant over 1.8 million new scattered trees and take care of 2,600 hectares of planted forests.

To achieve the goal, Tay Ninh focuses on a number of groups of solutions, including promoting the application of science and technology, encouraging high-tech agricultural production, spreading crops reasonably, and improving food quality and safety.

The province strives to achieve dragon fruit output of 216,000 tons in 2025.

Strengthen support for farmers, cooperatives and businesses in accessing capital, digital transformation, building agricultural product brands, expanding consumption markets, especially exports; invest in developing infrastructure serving agricultural production, especially irrigation systems adapting to climate change.

At the same time, strengthen management, inspection and disease prevention on crops, livestock, aquatic products and forest protection./.
