On January 19, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Inspectorate said that immediately after receiving information about the incident, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Inspectorate inspected Cao Kim Beauty Salon (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) to collect information and consolidate records to clarify issues related to the case of Ms. LHTN (40 years old, from Dong Nai) who suffered a stroke after a cosmetic procedure and is being treated at People's Hospital 115.

Doctor Le Anh Tuan, Head of the General Planning Department, People's Hospital 115, said that as of this morning (January 19), patient LHTN had his endotracheal tube removed, blood filtration and vasopressor therapy stopped, and all vital signs were progressing well.

The patient was monitored and treated at the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department, People's Hospital 115.

Previously, patient N. was transferred from Cao Kim Beauty Salon (69A, 3/2 Street, Ward 11, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) to People's Hospital 115 in a state of drowsiness and severe respiratory failure. The patient suffered from multiple organ failure and respiratory failure and was supported with a ventilator, vital signs monitored, fluid replacement, and blood filtration every day.

Doctor Tuan said, taking the patient's medical history, the beauty salon staff said that while the patient was being numbed for the second time, about 45 minutes after the first time, he started vomiting and his body stiffened. The beauty salon injected adrenaline and then called the 115 Emergency Center.

The Health Department Inspectorate recommends that people should research and choose reputable medical facilities before going for medical examination, treatment or beauty treatments.

The number of complications due to cosmetic surgery due to injections accounts for 69%.

On January 16, at the Southern Cosmetic Dermatology Conference, specialist doctor 2 Nguyen Thi Phan Thuy, Deputy Executive Director of Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, said that the number of cosmetic medical complications coming for examination and treatment at Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital has increased over time.

Of these, 69% of the complications were related to injection procedures, 16% were related to lasers and energy-emitting devices, 10% were related to chemical skin resurfacing procedures, and 5% were other procedures.

In 69% of cosmetic medical complications due to injection procedures, the leading cause is micro-injection complications at 54%, filler injections at 43%, and botox injections at 3%.
