The Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue has just sent a telegram to departments, branches, units and People's Committees of affiliated localities regarding the implementation of plans and measures to focus on responding to storm No. 6 (Tra Mi).

Accordingly, in response to the developments of storm No. 6, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense - Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Ho Chi Minh City requested units and localities to prepare and implement plans to ensure safety for people and boats operating on rivers, at sea, in seaport waters and coordinate search and rescue work in the city.

At the same time, units and localities need to closely monitor all developments of storm No. 6 and call on boats to escape from dangerous areas to safe shelters; maintain information and communication with captains, owners of fishing boats, cargo ships, means of transport at sea and coastal residents, especially offshore fishing boats until the boats are safely anchored; count and grasp the number and location of boats and crew on each boat; guide on anchoring properly according to techniques and regulations; strengthen patrols and strictly control boats operating along the coast, river mouths, departure points, and boat anchoring areas in each commune and town.
