Universities call on early admission candidates to be accountable

Following Tuoi Tre Online's report that some universities sent text messages and admission letters to candidates before the admissions stage, the Department of Higher Education said it had reminded schools to review and comply with regulations.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of August 2, a representative of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training said that after receiving feedback, the Department of Higher Education reminded schools to review and comply with admission regulations.

At the same time, schools are responsible for social accountability and responding to information reflected in the press.

Previously, Tuoi Tre Online reported that some universities in the South sent text messages and even sent admission invitation letters to candidates before the official university entrance exam date in 2025.

Among them are schools such as Hong Bang International University, Hung Vuong University Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Dinh University, Van Hien University.

Specifically, on the afternoon of July 30, many candidates received a text message from Hong Bang International University with the following content: "Hong Bang International University congratulates candidate: Full name NLTN, application code... on being admitted to Hong Bang International University. NLTN is invited to see the admission notice attached to the email or look up the notice here (with link)".

Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City sends the following notice to candidates: "Based on the candidate's application for admission based on transcripts - receiving scholarships, Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City respectfully congratulates candidate... for meeting the requirements for admission based on transcripts - receiving scholarships for regular university programs in the field of...".

Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City invites candidates to one of its two campuses to complete procedures: Phu Lam Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (receiving from July 11 to July 20) or An Nhon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (receiving from July 16 to July 20).

Van Hien University sent emails to many candidates informing them that they have met the requirements to be admitted to the school, and only need to pay 3 million VND to receive tuition support...

Candidates are not required to confirm admission before August 22.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, this year there will be no early admission. From August 16 to 20, the Ministry of Education and Training will process admission requests on the general admission system (virtual filtering).

It is expected that from 5pm on August 20, universities will announce the first round of benchmark scores, with the deadline before 5pm on August 22. Before 5pm on August 30, candidates must complete the admission confirmation on the system if they wish to study (including candidates who are directly admitted).

According to the 2025 university admission guidelines, the Ministry of Education and Training requires training institutions not to require candidates to confirm admission or enroll before August 22 and not to complete admission confirmation before August 30.
