Whoever goes fast wins...

On September 11, the Private Economic Development Research Board (Board IV) held a ceremony to announce the Vietnam Private Economic Panorama 2025 model (Vipel 2025) and introduce the Executive Council and key personnel of the committees.

In his opening speech at the event, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman ofFPT Corporation - shared that the Vietnamese private economic development model in the new period needs to aim at the goal of "public-private national construction: strong and prosperous". According to him, this is not just public-private cooperation as before, but a spirit of deep companionship, sharing responsibility between the State and the private sector to create a strong economy.

He stressed that the decisive resources for the future of humanity are knowledge, science, technology and innovation. “Whoever moves fast will win, whoever moves slowly will fall behind,” he said.

Looking back at Vietnam, Mr. Binh affirmed that our nation has a special history. He compared today's context to the spirit of the Binh Than conference during the Tran Dynasty, where wisdom converged to discuss strategies and unify wills for the country's destiny. "Every time world history turns a corner, Vietnam shines. This is our chance to shine," he said.

He emphasized that the change is happening so fast that many people do not believe it or do not know what to do. Therefore, the Panorama of the Vietnamese Private Economy must clarify the role and responsibility of each individual and organization for the future of the country.

According to him, entrepreneurs are not only job creators, but also carry within themselves an "oath" to build a rich and prosperous Vietnam. He also emphasized that the will of the Party, Government and State has never been so highly unified with the aspirations of the nation as it is today.

"This is the country's destiny and if it is missed, Vietnam will lose a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Mr. Binh emphasized.

He analyzed that for a long time, businesses often went it alone, facing countless difficulties without knowing who to share with. Now, the new model requires real companionship.

To make it more specific, Mr. Binh proposed the formula “20 - 200 - 2,000”. Accordingly, there will be 20 public-private initiatives at the national level. In addition, 200 national-scale enterprises are needed to take on a pioneering role. Along with that, about 2,000 enterprises will be associated at the provincial and communal levels, coordinating with local authorities to realize the goal of nation building.

According to him, the Panorama of Vietnam’s Private Economy is an opportunity for businesses. “We will rely on many layers, not only domestically but also internationally. The idea is that all people with Vietnamese blood join hands to build the country,” said Mr. Truong Gia Binh.

"Map" of development and connection of national strength

Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Sovico Group - emphasized that today's event not only has symbolic significance but is also a big step forward on the journey to realize the aspiration of building a self-reliant, creative, sustainable and prosperous economy from the driving force of the private economy.

According to Ms. Thao, since the Doi Moi process and especially when Resolution 68 was issued, the private economy has affirmed its role as one of the important driving forces of the national economy.

From small businesses, start-up ideas that dare to dream to corporations reaching regional and world levels, all demonstrate the mettle, intelligence and creative power of the Vietnamese people. Currently, the private economy has contributed more than 40% of GDP and is moving towards 60-70% of GDP, creating jobs for tens of millions of workers, lighting up the spirit of innovation, the desire to grow and the will to integrate internationally.

Ms. Thao said that the Vietnam Private Economic Panorama model announced this time is a comprehensive "map" that helps clearly identify the scale, potential and strength of the private economic sector, and at the same time becomes a platform for inter-sectoral connection - from production, infrastructure, logistics, finance to education, culture, services, technology and innovation.

The billionaire believes that this will be a tool to accompany the Government in policy making, a lever to unlock resources for the private economy to become a national pillar, playing the main role of driving force for development until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

“The responsibility of entrepreneurs is not only profit, but also creating social values, sustainable development, protecting the environment and spreading confidence to the nation,” Ms. Thao emphasized.

Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company - also shared that the gold, silver and jewelry industry is not a specific industry, but over the years has accompanied organizations and is very impressed with the way the Office of Department IV supports businesses to connect and closely connect.

She said she will make efforts to gather more businesses, share a common voice and determine what needs to be done during the year, towards the set goals.

In particular, she expressed her emotion when the role of female entrepreneurs was recognized as an important pillar. She said that this was a meaningful recognition, adding motivation, confidence and responsibility to the female entrepreneur community.

“Female entrepreneurs are inherently resilient, hard-working, and persistent, and when placed in the right position, we will have more strength to contribute to the overall development of the country,” Ms. Dung affirmed, emphasizing that almost every country in the world has an effective female entrepreneur organization, and Vietnam is also following this trend to increase the internal strength of the business community.

If everyone has the spirit of dedication, the country will have millions of dedicated people.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Vu Van Tien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gleximco Group - emphasized that the Party and the Government have been creating unprecedented opportunities for the private economic sector, clearly demonstrated by Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development. He said that this is the intersection between the vision and development ideas from the State and the private enterprise sector, opening up a favorable corridor for businesses to break through.

"From here, private enterprises need to join hands to create breakthroughs and develop more strongly, thereby contributing to a strong and prosperous country," Mr. Tien affirmed.

He also stressed that to achieve success, Vietnam needs to promote the unique characteristics and intelligence of the nation. He said that the business community and the public sector must co-create to create development breakthroughs.

Therefore, businesses must not only seek their own interests, but must share the same aspirations and passion with the country, contributing to society and the people. “If everyone in their position has the spirit of dedication, the country will have millions of dedicated people, and from there, we will succeed together,” he said, affirming that “Vietnamese people are very good” and calling on each individual to find their own aspirations and make efforts to achieve them.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Phan Duc Hieu, National Assembly Delegate, Member of the National Assembly's Economic and Budget Committee, emphasized that the "public-private nation building" initiative not only arouses the spirit, aspiration and determination of the private business community, but also spreads a strong entrepreneurial spirit to the public sector.

According to him, the spirit of creation and the aspiration to develop a strong country from the private sector is creating positive pressure, pushing the public apparatus to become more dynamic and innovative.

However, Mr. Hieu said that it is important that the business community does not just stop at criticizing policies as before, but needs to proactively contribute and propose specific solutions to perfect the legal system.

"In the coming period, in addition to participating in giving opinions, the private business community can completely proactively propose solutions and policies to perfect the legal framework and improve enforcement efficiency," Mr. Hieu affirmed.

The Vietnam Private Economic Panorama Model is a model initiated by the Private Economic Development Research Board (Board IV), gathering the largest, most prestigious and most standardized private enterprise sector.
