VFF trains referees for nearly 1,200 non-professional matches

In 2024, Vietnamese football will have 22 professional and non-professional tournaments with nearly 1,800 matches. According to statistics, about 2/3 of the matches belong to non-professional tournaments, equivalent to nearly 1,200 matches.

The Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee pays special attention to the training of supervisors and referees for non-professional tournaments. Immediately after the training session, the referees, referee supervisors, and match supervisors immediately participated in the 2024 Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament and the 2024 National U19 Championship qualifying round.

" In a few days, the student football tournament and the National U19 qualifying round will begin. VFF organizes training sessions to help supervisors and referees reach a basic agreement on coordination principles, update new information on laws as well as the implementation of organizing events during the year.

The workload is huge, so the VFF Standing Committee pays great attention to preparing for supervision and referees to grasp the standards, thereby helping activities, even though they are not professional, to aim for absolute professionalism. That is the goal set by VFF ," said Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan at the opening ceremony of the training course on the afternoon of January 3.

Head of the VFF Referee Board Dang Thanh Ha said: referees only have 3 days to attend the training course to gain experience as well as update new laws.

Mr. Ha hopes that the supervisors and referees will make every effort and focus in the coming days to update their knowledge, complete theories and practices to equip themselves for the upcoming difficult non-professional season.

89/91 referees have completed the test and are ready to enter the upcoming season. The pre-season training course for the 2024 Vietnam non-professional football season takes place from January 2 to January 5, 2024. After the physical test, the referees continue with theory lessons and tests at the Vietnam Football Federation.
