Determined 16 teams to enter the knockout round of women's volleyball world

(Dan Tri) - Last night's matches (August 26) determined all 16 teams to enter the round of 16 of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship. There were no big surprises until the knockout round.

In Group A, host Thailand and the Netherlands have qualified for the round of 16. Thailand is also the only team from Southeast Asia to reach this stage.

In Group B, the representative from the world's women's volleyball powerhouse Italy had no difficulty in advancing. Next to Italy is Belgium. Similar to Italy in Group B is the case of Brazil in Group C. Brazil is also a world women's volleyball powerhouse. France entered the round of 16 with Brazil.

In Group D, another strong team, the US, also qualified for the next round, along with Slovenia. In Group E, two teams qualified for the round of 16, including Türkiye and Canada.

Meanwhile, in Group F, the very strong Asian team China also has a ticket to the next stage, along with the Dominican Republic women's team.

In Group G, the group of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, the Polish and German teams will have no difficulty in getting tickets to the next round. Group G still has the final round of matches taking place this evening (August 27).

In Group F, Asian representative Japan advanced to the round of 16. The remaining team in this group to advance is the Serbian women's team.

In total, nine European teams made it to the round of 16, three Asian teams, three teams from North, Central America and the Caribbean, and one South American team made it to the knockout stage. In contrast, no African women's volleyball representative made it past the group stage.
