The road to Phu Tho is vast
Implementing an important strategic breakthrough in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term on building a synchronous infrastructure system, before the merger, all three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh prioritized resources to invest, build and upgrade transport infrastructure in a synchronous and modern direction.
Specifically, the old Phu Tho province has 20 important traffic projects in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025. Up to now, 17/20 projects have been completed and basically completed such as: Inter-regional traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho to Yen Bai ; Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway... In the period 2021-2025, the old Vinh Phuc province has allocated 19,526 billion VND for the development of road traffic infrastructure. The highlight is the completion and putting into use of Vinh Phu bridge across Lo river connecting the two banks of Vinh Phuc - Phu Tho and the railway overpass on Nguyen Tat Thanh street. With the motto "traffic goes first to pave the way", the old Hoa Binh province has determined to prioritize resources for investment in traffic infrastructure to create a premise for socio-economic development. In the past term, the province has accelerated the completion of a number of key traffic projects to gradually complete the planned traffic network such as the road connecting Hoa Binh city - Kim Boi, the Hoa Binh - Hanoi regional road, road 433, road 450, road 436, the road connecting Luong Son town - Xuan Mai, Hanoi (phase 1)... Currently, the rate of concreting and asphalting of national highways, provincial roads, district roads, and urban roads of the province has reached 100%.
The Provincial House of Culture and Arts is ready to host national and international events.
The province currently has 30,721 km of roads. Of which, there are 130.3 km of expressways, including Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (101.4 km), Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway (28.9 km) and 973.2 km of national highways. Regarding waterway traffic, Phu Tho has 678 km of inland waterways, of which 369 km are central inland waterways, 309 km are local inland waterways with 55 inland waterway terminals in operation. In addition, Phu Tho also has the Hanoi - Lao Cai national railway running through it, 112.93 km long with 13 stations. The synchronous, modern and widespread transport system has connected Phu Tho with the capital Hanoi, the vast Northwest and North Central regions.
Currently, a series of trillion-dollar traffic projects are continuing to accelerate progress such as: Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway; Project to renovate and expand National Highway 2, Vinh Yen - Viet Tri section; expanding Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh road according to 6-lane highway standards, design speed of 100 km/h; renovating and upgrading National Highway 6, Xuan Mai - Hoa Binh section... contributing to synchronizing and modernizing traffic infrastructure for Phu Tho province.
Traffic has been cleared, all roads leading to Phu Tho are now open. This is an important “plus point” for Phu Tho to be worthy of being chosen as a place to hold national and international events.
A worthy destination for national and international events
In mid-August, Phu Tho province held the inauguration ceremony of the Provincial Cultural and Artistic House - a typical key project of the people of the Hung Kings' Ancestral Land. The project has a total adjusted investment of nearly 426 billion VND, built on a land area of nearly 18,000 m2. The Provincial Cultural and Artistic House has a capacity of about 1,000 seats; the interior is invested in modern, synchronous sound and lighting systems, ensuring fire prevention and fighting and many functional rooms serving performances and organizing large-scale events.
At the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc affirmed: The Provincial Cultural and Artistic House not only creates a modern architectural highlight but is also a worthy cultural space, meeting the expectations of many generations of officials and people in the province. The construction of the project is an important step to realize the goal of building Phu Tho into a center for organizing cultural and artistic events of national and international stature. The Provincial Cultural and Artistic House deserves to be a classy stage for professional performances, serving the increasingly high cultural enjoyment needs of the people; an indispensable cultural and tourist destination in the journey back to the roots of the Vietnamese nation.
After the merger, the expanded space, advantages, and infrastructure of all three provinces create strong potential for the new province. Currently, Phu Tho province has two national tourist areas: Hung Temple Historical Relic Site and Tam Dao Tourist Area. Hoa Binh Lake Tourist Area has now met the criteria of a national tourist area. The whole province currently has 1,520 accommodation establishments with more than 20,000 rooms; including 182 hotels, 9 hotels from 4 to 5 stars. Notably, in 2022, Tam Dao Tourist Area was honored by the World Travel Awards as "The World's Leading Tourist Town". In addition, there are currently 94 travel businesses in the province (15 international travel service businesses, 79 domestic travel service businesses). Along with that is an abundant, well-trained, experienced human resource ready to organize political events as well as reception, logistics, and serve domestic and international tourists.
In addition to synchronous transportation, modern infrastructure, abundant human resources, Phu Tho is also a land of culture and relics. Currently, the province has 2,778 relics, including 6 special national relics, 176 national relics; 6 national treasures and thousands of relics and antiquities. Phu Tho province has nearly 2,000 intangible heritages, of which 5 are recognized by UNESCO; 41 national intangible cultural heritages. The special cultural values help Phu Tho to be a suitable choice for organizing political events, cultural exchanges, seminars, etc.
Affirming prestige and experience in organizing national and international tournaments
Bordering Hanoi, with convenient transportation and standard technical infrastructure, before the merger, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh and Vinh Phuc were repeatedly chosen as venues for national and international sports tournaments. After the merger, the convergence of infrastructure and experience in organizing major tournaments has made the “Phu Tho” brand even stronger and more prestigious.
With standard infrastructure, close to Hanoi, the old Vinh Phuc province is known as a familiar place to organize volleyball tournaments, domestic and international Marathons. After the merger, in early July, Vinh Phuc Sports Gymnasium continued to be selected to organize the VTV Ferroli Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament. The tournament attracted the participation of 8 teams from Vietnam, Australia, China, Russia, Thailand, Philippines... Then, on August 16, at Flamingo Dai Lai Resort, the VTV LPBank International Marathon - Rhythm Through Time 2025 successfully took place, gathering more than 7,000 runners from 8 countries, competing in 3 distances. The running routes were designed through lush pine forests, along poetic lakes and close to unique architectural works, creating special, unforgettable impressions for athletes.
If the strength of organizing tournaments in the old Vinh Phuc area is volleyball and Marathon, the central area of Phu Tho is football. Viet Tri Stadium with a capacity of 20,000 seats after many upgrades and renovations has become one of the most modern stadiums in the area. Traveling to the stadium is also easy when it is only less than 1 hour by car from Noi Bai airport. This stadium is considered to have a quality grass field, lighting system, electronic board, function room... meeting international competition standards. Viet Tri Stadium has successfully organized many major international tournaments. Notable among them are men's football at the 31st SEA Games and the 2024 ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup Southeast Asian Football Championship, along with many Asian qualifying tournaments at different youth football levels such as U17, U20, U23... Continuously in the past 2 months, Viet Tri Stadium has been chosen to host the group stage, the 2025 ASEAN MSIG Serenity Cup Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship and the 2026 Asian U23 Football Championship qualifiers.
In the south of the province, the old Hoa Binh area has been chosen many times to host national and international cycling races. The province has invested in infrastructure, most notably the 7km off-road racing track system and standard roads to successfully organize the cycling event in the 31st SEA Games in 2022. Every year, Hoa Binh is also regularly selected to host the National Amateur Cycling Championship, the National Amateur Mountain Bike Championship... From August 18 to 28, the 30th National Youth Road and Off-Road Cycling Championship was successfully held here with the participation of 15 athlete delegations from provinces and cities such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap, Army... A series of national and international sporting events held in the province after 2 months of merger have affirmed the prestige and strength of Phu Tho in organizing sporting events in particular and events in general.
Traffic has been paved, infrastructure has been completed, experience and reputation have been affirmed, especially, with the position of the sacred Ancestral Land, the origin of the nation, Phu Tho is ready to become the center for organizing political - cultural - social events of the country and the world.
