Strictly handle school violence

Binh Thuan Department of Education and Training has sent an official dispatch to educational institutions across the province requesting to rectify, prevent and strictly handle school violence occurring in the area.

On the afternoon of November 12, Ms. Nguyen Thi Toan Thang, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Thuan, signed and issued a document to educational institutions in the whole province on rectifying, preventing and strictly handling school violence.

Accordingly, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Thuan said that he had received a report from the Department of Education and Training of Ham Thuan Nam about the fight between students at Thuan Nam Secondary School, Ham Thuan Nam District. The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Thuan requested the Department of Education and Training of Ham Thuan Nam District to coordinate with the police, other responsible agencies and parents to quickly verify and resolve the incident, not to let it happen again and at the same time take measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the area.

Organize a review, clarify the responsibilities of relevant groups and individuals, and at the same time, do not let it affect the psychology and health of students. Organize visits, encourage and provide timely support so that students can quickly return to school. At the same time, promote communication work, effectively implement the plan to prevent school violence according to the plan issued by the Department of Education and Training on March 26.

Also on the morning of November 12, the Office of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province sent an official dispatch to the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam district and the Department of Education and Training of Binh Thuan province to convey the direction of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province Nguyen Minh requesting verification of the above incident and strict handling according to the provisions of law; report to the Provincial People's Committee before November 15.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter, a leader of Ham Thuan Nam District Police said that the police had worked with the students who participated in beating their friend (class 7A12, Thuan Nam Secondary School). There were 4 students who participated in beating their friend, then another student used his phone to record the incident and together they posted it on social media. These students were all in the same class and admitted their wrongdoings.

The student's statement shows that the cause of the incident was that a student lost a classmate's helmet and later bought a new one, but it was the wrong color. This led to a conflict and he was beaten up by a group of people.
