1,110 works participated in the 5th National Press Award on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity

Mr. Vu Van Tien, member of the Presidium, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, spoke at the meeting.

The 5th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, 2024-2025, organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnam Television.

After nearly 2 years of launching, up to now, the Organizing Committee of the 5th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, 2024-2025 has received 1,110 valid works (42 works more than the 4th award, the 4th season had 1,078 participating works): of which, 376 works from print newspapers, 622 works from electronic newspapers, 63 works from television, 49 works from radio from over 90 press agencies at the central and local levels.

Mr. Vu Van Tien, member of the Presidium, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, listened to the comments and discussions of the members of the Preliminary Council.

Referring to the success of the 4 times of organizing the National Press Award for preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, Mr. Vu Van Tien respectfully requested the members of the Council to promote the experience and high sense of responsibility of journalists who have been associated with and accompanied the Press Award of the Front for many years and participated in judging in national press awards, focusing on evaluating and selecting quality works for the final round, ensuring objectivity, promoting quality, and appropriate structure of works.

According to Mr. Vu Van Tien, the preliminary judging process to select works for the final round must closely follow the criteria and conditions in the Award Rules and regulations in the Jury's Jury Regulations.

Focus on selecting journalistic works with elaborate, creative and innovative forms of expression. The content is topical, mentions, reflects deeply, and has the power to spread the Party's policies and the State's new laws on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. In-depth articles have high theoretical and practical value on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, former Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, spoke at the meeting.

In addition, it is necessary to select works that reflect the struggle and refute distorted arguments about the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in both the State and non-State sectors; implementing regulations on controlling power; condemning the fear of responsibility; praising and encouraging examples of fighting corruption and waste; protecting those who detect, denounce and fight against corruption and negativity; journalistic works that recommend, propose and provide solutions to improve the effectiveness of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. Works that reflect the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in participating in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

Affirming that the preliminary judging work is extremely important, as a basis for the Final Judging Council to consider and select the winning works, Mr. Vu Van Tien suggested that after the meeting, the Preliminary Judging Subcommittees will immediately start judging and send the results to the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front before August 29, 2025 to synthesize and make an official list of works selected for the final judging, ensuring progress and quality.
