On October 3, Mr. Ha Huy Dong - Chairman of the Labor Federation of Dien Chau district, Nghe An - said that on the same morning, workers of Viet Glory Company Limited (located in Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau district) had not yet returned to work.
Previously, on October 2, after lunch ended, thousands of workers of Viet Glory Company Ltd. left en masse.
This is a company specializing in manufacturing leather shoes for export, currently has more than 6,000 workers. About 90% of the company's workers do not work the afternoon shift that same day.

Immediately after the incident, representatives of the Labor Federation and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dien Chau district were present to collect information from the workers. The agencies recorded 8 groups of petitions and proposals from the workers which were forwarded to the company's leaders for consideration and resolution.
Regarding the 8 petitions of the employees, the Board of Directors of Viet Glory Company Limited sent a notice responding specifically to each content.
First of all, regarding salary, the company's Board of Directors believes that, according to regulations, the minimum wage in Dien Chau region III is 3,640,000 VND. The company's current basic salary is 4,130,000 VND, higher than the regional basic salary, in accordance with regulations. Considering the current situation, the company cannot adjust the basic salary. The company hopes that its employees will sympathize and share.
Regarding the workers' feedback to the supervisor and company staff, the company affirmed that it will adjust the working attitude of all foreign and Vietnamese staff. Any individual who violates will be disciplined according to the company's regulations. In the coming time, the company will strengthen staff training.
Regarding the proposal that female workers who are 7 months pregnant be allowed to leave home 1 hour early, the company affirmed that it has complied with the law.
The company will direct the technical department to re-check the timekeeping equipment, if there is a problem, it will be fixed immediately. If a worker cannot clock in, the HR department must be notified.

The company will adjust meeting time to suit production situation. If there is a meeting scheduled outside of working hours, overtime will be calculated according to regulations.
On October 1, in order to encourage the spirit of staff and workers, and at the same time increase income and ensure workers' lives, the company decided to increase the production bonus for all staff and workers of the factory to suit the current situation.
Regarding the proposal on calculating the 13th month bonus and toxic allowance, the toxic allowance recipient, the company will consider and resolve in the coming time according to the provisions of law and the company's welfare regulations.
"This morning (October 3), workers arrived but did not go to work but gathered in front of the company gate. Company leaders and the District Labor Federation directly mobilized and called on workers to go to work. By noon of the same day, the workers had returned home," said Mr. Ha Huy Dong.
The case is being handled by district and commune level agencies and departments of Dien Truong at the enterprise to continue to resolve with the company.
