70 years of Capital Liberation: Decorating the streets in a solemn and economical manner

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the Hanoi People's Committee requires the decoration of flowers, ornamental plants and visual propaganda on the streets and routes to ensure solemnity, economy and effectiveness.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Construction has directed units to strengthen maintenance and operation to ensure lighting and landscape in each main street, especially where the special art program to celebrate the anniversary takes place. Specifically, from October 4 to October 13, 2024, flowers and ornamental plants will be decorated in public areas such as: Lenin Park, Hoan Kiem Lake area (Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To and in front of the City People's Committee gate), Ly Thai To flower garden, the Political Center area (Doc Lap, Hung Vuong, Hoang Van Thu, Ngoc Ha, Le Hong Phong streets), main roads and streets (Van Cao, Lieu Giai, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tran Duy Hung), the area in front of the National Convention Center (Thang Long Avenue), the area in front of the My Dinh National Stadium (Le Duc Tho street), traffic islands in the central area: 19/8 traffic island, traffic island in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the foot of the panels, about 100 square meters of flower carpets were also decorated; at the same time, the decoration of the Party Central Committee headquarters, the Hanoi Party Committee headquarters, the National Assembly Delegation headquarters and the Hanoi People's Council - People's Committee was deployed. The estimated volume and cost is about 9,106 million VND, including 6 Phalaenopsis orchid pots, 1,843 square meters of fresh flower carpets, 409 fresh flower pots, 1 lotus model, 5 silk flower trellises, 42 flower pots, 70 decorative flower stands, 30 flower baskets... The main types of flowers and ornamental plants for decoration are Da Lat poinsettia, Da Lat anthurium, Da Lat chrysanthemum, etc. The Hanoi Department of Construction said that at the end of the decoration period, if the flowers and ornamental plants are still of guaranteed quality, they will continue to be displayed until the quality of the flowers decreases, then they will be recalled. During the implementation process, if the city requires additional decoration of public places, agency headquarters... The Department of Construction will direct the Hanoi City Technical Infrastructure Management Center and the contractor to promptly implement it. For the area in the Hanoi Zoo, it is necessary to regularly maintain trees and lawns, and promptly replace seasonal flowers so that the flowers bloom brightly on the occasion of the anniversary. The Hanoi Zoo One Member Limited Liability Company proactively decorates flags, lighting, ornamental plants and flowers using the unit's budget. In addition to the area decorated by the Hanoi Department of Construction, the city assigns the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to proactively decorate public places according to decentralization to ensure solemnity, economy and efficiency. The People's Committees of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem and Hai Ba Trung districts coordinate with the Department of Construction to deploy decoration in the area of ​​the Lenin Park monument yard, Ly Thai To flower garden and the gate area of ​​Thong Nhat Park.

Regarding decoration and artistic lighting, functional units continue to maintain decorative and artistic lighting activities in the form of socialization. Specifically, decorative and artistic lighting on the body of lampposts on streets, traffic islands, bridges, welcome gates; propaganda on the LED screen system. Also following the direction of the city, to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has deployed a decoration and visual propaganda plan to widely propagate to a large number of cadres, party members and all classes of people, armed forces of the Capital about the great significance of this anniversary. Thereby, affirming the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, arousing pride in the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of the nation, of Thang Long - Hanoi, a thousand years of civilization - heroes, City for Peace , Creative City. On the other hand, propagating and educating the moral "when drinking water, remember its source"; foster and promote patriotism, self-reliance, self-strengthening spirit, the spirit of great national unity in the cause of innovation and international integration, contributing to consolidating and fostering people's trust in the Party, the State and the socialist regime. The city requires decoration, visual propaganda and agitation in many rich and diverse forms with focus and key points, ensuring aesthetics; organizing solemnly and practically, creating an atmosphere of pride and excitement for the people of the capital.
