Bac Ninh: Donating wheelchairs to victims of Agent Orange/dioxin

BAC NINH - On September 12 and 15, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Bac Ninh province organized a program to give wheelchairs to Agent Orange/Dioxin victims in difficult circumstances in the province.

Accordingly, 17 wheelchairs were given to victims and members of the following communes and wards: Tien Luc, Luc Nam, Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa, Hop Thinh, Xuan Cam, Yen The, Dong Ky. The total cost was about 34 million VND, taken from the Provincial Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Fund.

At the ceremony, the leader of the Provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims affirmed: Although the wheelchairs are not of great value, they are a means of transportation support, spiritual encouragement, helping the victims gain more determination, overcome difficulties, and gradually improve their lives.

On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange/Dioxin Disaster Day in Vietnam, August 10 (1961-2025), the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented 46 wheelchairs to victims and members in difficult circumstances.

According to statistics, the whole province currently has about 8,600 people infected with Agent Orange/dioxin who are enjoying the regime. In recent times, the association at all levels has closely coordinated with socio -political organizations, connecting resources, supporting members in many forms such as: Giving gifts; building houses; giving wheelchairs, bicycles; providing hardship allowances; granting scholarships; examining and treating victims of Agent Orange. Thereby contributing to the good implementation of the social security policy of the Party and State, spreading the tradition of "remembering the source of drinking water", the spirit of compassion and responsibility of the community towards the less fortunate.
