A familiar image every early morning, noon and especially during rush hour at the intersection between Le Loi Street and Ly Thuong Kiet Street in Thanh Vinh Ward, the flow of vehicles is difficult, sometimes unable to move. Photo: Dinh Tuyen According to reporters from Nghe An Newspaper and Television, one of the main reasons for the traffic jams here is the lack of a traffic light system, causing vehicles to move in a haphazard manner. Photo: Dinh Tuyen Traffic awareness of a part of the population is still limited, leading to jostling and reckless overtaking, making traffic even more chaotic. The image was recorded on the afternoon of September 5. Photo: Dinh Tuyen Due to traffic congestion, many motorcyclists have to choose the sidewalk to move. Photo: Dinh Tuyen Mr. Nguyen Tan, a resident of Thanh Vinh ward, shared: Once I went to the hospital recently, it took me 40 minutes to get through this road. Because there were no traffic signals, no one gave way to anyone, so I had to cross the other side of the road to get through. I request the government to soon come up with a reasonable solution to reduce the hardship for the people. Photo: Dinh Tuyen As many people have reported, traffic congestion is only truly relieved when traffic police appear to direct traffic. As soon as the police are absent, traffic falls into chaos again. Photo: Dinh Tuyen Ms. Bui Thi Hanh, a regular traffic participant on Ly Thuong Kiet street, shared: "My company is located right on this road, so I pass by it every day on my way to work. During rush hour, the traffic is so heavy that it is difficult to move. Many days, vehicles jostle each other, everyone is in a hurry, so collisions easily happen. I have witnessed many accidents, from minor scratches to people falling on the road. Passing by here every day is stressful." Long lines of vehicles lined up on Le Loi Street. Photo: Dinh Tuyen Officials of the functional forces said that during the morning, noon and rush hours, there are forces deployed to regulate traffic. In the morning, from 6:30, the force is present to regulate traffic, and in the afternoon starting from 16:30. Especially on rainy days, the number of vehicles increases dramatically, the force focuses mainly on regulating to avoid congestion, not conducting inspections or handling administrative violations. Photo: Dinh Tuyen In addition, the Ly Thuong Kiet route through Thanh Vinh ward, although started a long time ago, has not yet been completed, causing a bottleneck in the traffic infrastructure in this area. In addition, manhole barriers are left in the middle of the road, posing a potential danger to road users. Photo: Dinh Tuyen To deploy the signal system synchronously and effectively, the completion of Ly Thuong Kiet Street is necessary. In particular, the unfinished section (through the old Hung Binh ward) needs to be constructed and completed soon to ensure smooth, safe and civilized operation of traffic infrastructure.
