(Dan Tri) - Most parents try to maintain fairness in the way they show affection to their children. Almost no parents openly admit that they "favor" one child more.
However, research from Brigham Young University (USA) shows that parents in the US tend to favor their daughters more than their sons.
This conclusion was made by a group of scientists after analyzing research revolving around parents' feelings for their children. According to the research group, it could be because daughters are "easier to raise and teach" than sons, leading to this phenomenon.
In large families, there is always one or a few children who are more favored by their parents (Illustration: Freepik).
In addition, children who are thoughtful, careful, responsible, organized, neat, tidy, and obedient... are often more loved by their parents.
In the family, children who are loved and pampered by their parents often have better mental health and academic results. Their emotional relationships also often go better and smoother.
"In large families, there is always one or a few children who are favored more than the others," said Dr. Alexander Jensen, who led the research team at Brigham Young University.
This is not simply based on whether the eldest or youngest child is favored more, but also on the sense of responsibility, temperament or level of docility of each child."
This research from Brigham Young University was recently published in the psychology journal Psychological Bulletin .
