Former US President Barack Obama and rapper Kendrick Lamar both won their second Emmys on September 7, while the 50th anniversary special of "Saturday Night Live" won big with eight awards on the second night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Former President Obama won the Documentary Narrator category, which featured a star-studded cast including Tom Hanks, Idris Elba and David Attenborough. He won the same award in 2022.
Meanwhile, rapper Lamar and artist Tony Russell won for musical direction of the Super Bowl halftime show. Lamar also won his first Emmy in 2022 as a Super Bowl halftime performer, alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
In particular, all eyes on the second night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards were on the "Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special."
The three-hour special celebrating the 50th anniversary of NBC's sketch comedy Saturday Night Live won for writing, hairstyling, editing and five other categories.
HBO's "Pee-wee as Himself" won awards in four categories, including best documentary.
TV host Conan O'Brien won two Emmys for his travel series "Conan O'Brien Must Go," bringing his career total to six.
And while he didn't receive any individual awards for the show, Netflix's "Conan O'Brien: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Comedy" beat out rapper Lamar and singer Beyoncé for Best Variety Special.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé won a previously announced special Emmy for her costumes in her Christmas Day "Beyoncé Bowl" show on Netflix.
Kimmel, who has hosted both the Oscars and Emmys multiple times, was on hand to accept his fourth Emmy, in the category of Outstanding Game Show Host for his role on the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."
"Jeopardy" won best game show, while Cumming won best reality TV host for “The Traitors.”
The Emmy Creative Arts Awards ceremony lasted for two nights with nearly 100 awards presented./.
