Moscow takes control of more villages in eastern Ukraine
On February 22, TASS quoted the Russian Defense Ministry's announcement that it had taken control of the village of Novolyubivka in Luhansk province, which had largely fallen into Russian hands since the beginning of the war.
Russia's Defense Ministry said its armed units attacked Ukrainian military airports containing enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and fuel depots.

The Spanish leader added that any "just and lasting peace" would require the participation of Ukraine and Europe.
Trump says talks with Russia are more effective than with Ukraine
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told President Zelensky on the same day that no peace negotiation mechanism could resolve the conflict with Russia without Ukraine.
In a phone call with Mr. Zelensky, Mr. Mitsotakis said it was up to the Kyiv government to decide whether to accept peace talks or not.
For his part, US President Donald Trump on February 21 publicly criticized his counterpart Zelensky's negotiating style, but emphasized that Kyiv leader and Russian President Vladimir Putin must meet if they want everything to be settled properly.
