According to HK01, actor Doan Vi Luan passed away on August 27 after a period of quietly battling illness. He was known for many action movies and worked as Jackie Chan’s right-hand man for more than ten years.

Hong Kong news site revealed that Tuan Wei Lun passed away on August 27, the cause is said to be kidney failure, at the age of 67. The news of the veteran actor's passing was also confirmed by his longtime friend Lu Hui Guang.

Actor Lu later shared with Oriental Daily that he knew that Tuan Vi Luan had some serious health problems and had suffered a stroke, but he was still very surprised when he heard the news of his friend's passing. "I contacted him last week, but when I received a call from his family saying that Tuan Vi Luan had passed away, I felt it was sudden, but that's life," he shared. He added that the male artist was his good brother and that he and his family would take care of his close friend's funeral.

In an interview with ST Headline following the news of Doan Vi Luan's death, actor Tien Tieu Hao said the two had little contact but he knew his longtime colleague was not in good health. "It's sad... I've lost another friend, in just one year several people have passed away. But at our age, this is unavoidable," the 62-year-old star confided.

As for Simon Yam, although he has not yet worked directly with Doan Vi Luan, the veteran actor said he is still impressed with this actor as a very chivalrous person. "When I was a new face in the entertainment industry, he was Jackie Chan's right-hand man, and even proactively told me: 'If you need any help, just come to me'. Such a person is truly rare, he is a really good person," he said.

According to ST Headline , Doan Vi Luan's health has been declining for many years now. He has retired to a private life and rarely appears in public. In an event more than a decade ago, he revealed that he was still involved in the car business and was preparing to produce a movie, but frankly said that he would not return to the screen due to some underlying health conditions.
