The Chut ethnic group in Ha Tinh used to live in caves. In 1960, they were discovered by local authorities and border guards and mobilized to live in Rao Tre village. At that time, the Chut people had no name or surname. When the border guards helped make birth certificates, the people unanimously agreed to take the surname Ho after Uncle Ho ( Inthe photo: The leaders of Phuc Trach commune continue to care for and support the Chut people to become self-reliant ). With special respect for Uncle Ho, the National Day in Rao Tre village is not only a big national festival, but also a separate holiday (Independence Day) to commemorate Uncle Ho. These days, the village is like a big festival, brilliant with national flags, party flags, and clean and beautiful village roads. In every house, the most solemn place is an altar with a picture of Uncle Ho. The villagers preserve the picture as a treasure, clean it carefully, consider it a symbol of faith, a mirror to guide their children and grandchildren.
The Chut people often say to each other: "Without the Party, without Uncle Ho, there would be no Rao Tre village today." Therefore, every Independence Day season, that belief and gratitude is fostered, becoming the driving force for the Chut people to unite and determinedly build a prosperous village. This year's Independence Day of the Chut people is also more special as it coincides with Lap Lo Festival (7/7 lunar calendar).... ...people received many gifts of support from all levels, sectors and philanthropists. Along with the people of the whole country, the Chut people were also excited to receive National Day gifts on September 2.
The Independence Day meal is therefore more complete and prosperous. Ms. Ho Thi Sam emotionally shared: “ On Independence Day, people seem to have new motivation. We will preserve our cultural identity together, work together, and hope that our children and grandchildren can study well so that life will become better and better .” From simple houses nestled on the mountainside to newly built structures, the appearance of Chut village is changing day by day.
In the joy of the great national festival, people have more confidence in the road ahead, uniting to build a rich and beautiful homeland.
