Dong Nai needs to speed up disbursement of public investment capital

(DN) - On the afternoon of August 20, Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh chaired a supervision session of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee delegation on the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on important national projects and the socio-economic development situation.

The leaders of Dong Nai province attending the supervision session included comrade Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Party agencies; Provincial Party Committee members: Ho Van Ha, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Dieu Huynh Sang, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

Reporting at the meeting, the representative of Dong Nai Department of Finance said: In the first 6 months of the year, Dong Nai province's GRDP increased by 8.23%, ranking 13th out of 34 provinces and cities, higher than the national average (7.52%). Economic sectors and investment attraction continued to develop with many improvements.

Regarding compensation and site clearance for key projects, the province has completed handing over the entire site of the Long Thanh International Airport Project. The site clearance for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project has basically been completed and the construction progress is being accelerated to open the project to technical traffic on December 19, 2025.

Along with that, the province is also implementing compensation, site clearance, and construction of expressway projects: Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh - Hoa Lu, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh... At the same time, the province is also completing procedures to propose the Government to build a special resolution of the National Assembly on the establishment and development of free trade zones in the province.

Dong Nai province has also directed departments and branches to work directly with each real estate enterprise to review and remove difficulties with more than 250 projects in the province. At the same time, solutions to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital have been deployed.

At the supervision session, the representative of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha proposed that the National Assembly request the Government to soon issue decrees and documents providing detailed instructions for the implementation of laws including: Law on Investment under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) method, Law on Investment, Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises (amended), etc.

Speaking at the supervision session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh assessed: Dong Nai province currently has many key national projects underway, with a huge amount of work. Compared to the previous supervision, the progress of the projects has been significantly improved, especially the Long Thanh Airport and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway projects, with many improvements and technical initiatives to shorten construction time and mobilize the entire political system to promote and mobilize the handover of land.

As for the Long Thanh Airport Project, the authorities need to report to the National Assembly for consideration to immediately implement the next phase, to avoid the situation where the first phase is already in operation and is affected by the construction of the following phase packages. Ministries, branches and Dong Nai province need to pay attention to handling the traffic problem connecting Long Thanh Airport. Speed ​​up the progress of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project to put it into operation soon, reducing the load on National Highway 51. With the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project, the province needs to have drastic solutions to handle problems to speed up the progress.

Along with that, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh suggested that Dong Nai province accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, using public investment to lead private investment, and promote economic growth. The province also needs to renew traditional growth drivers and discover new growth drivers to promote socio-economic development.
