On the morning of February 6 (January 9), a large number of people and tourists from all over flocked to the Nua - Am Tien Temple National Historical and Cultural Relic Site, Nua Town, Trieu Son District, Thanh Hoa Province to attend the "opening of the gate to heaven" ceremony.

According to Dan Tri reporters, in addition to offerings, many people also scattered coins all over the altar, even though the relic management board had placed a sign warning against placing money.

Many people even spread money on flower pots and mascot cabinets in the relic grounds. After the ceremony, many people also stopped by the stone on the top of Ngan Nua and rubbed money on the stone for luck.

Through observation, only a few people are aware that scattering coins is offensive in spiritual places, so they proactively put money into the donation box.

"The act of scattering coins on the altar, the offering tray or rubbing money on the artifacts in the relic site is very offensive. The relic site management board has arranged donation boxes around the campus, I think everyone should be a little aware so as not to affect the sacred place," said Mr. Hoang, a tourist from Trieu Son district, Thanh Hoa.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Le Phu Quoc, Vice Chairman of Trieu Son District People's Committee, said that every year, the locality often places signs stating that people are not allowed to leave small change for worship and arranges donation boxes around the relic site.

"Because many tourists are still not aware and are too superstitious, this situation occurs. We will remind the relic management board to correct this situation," Mr. Quoc said.
