The European Commission (EC) has issued a notice initiating an anti-dumping investigation into certain cold-rolled steel coil products imported into the EU from India, Japan, Taiwan (China), Turkey and Vietnam. The requester is the European Steel Association (EUROFER).
The goods under investigation are cold-rolled steel coils (excluding stainless steel, galvanized steel, and color-coated steel). The anti-dumping investigation period is from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. The injury investigation period is from January 1, 2022, to June 30, 2025.
The investigation shall be concluded within 1 year, which may be extended but not more than 14 months from the date of issuance of the notice of initiation.
In the notice of initiation, the EC provided details regarding the requesting party, the goods under investigation, the alleged dumping, the injury and causal relationship, the alleged intervention in the prices of raw materials, the investigation procedure and related time limits, the provisions on the rights and obligations of the parties involved, and instructions on the procedures for uploading and posting documents on the EC's electronic system TRON.
The Trade Defense Department recommends that the Vietnam Steel Association and enterprises producing and exporting investigated goods carefully study the attached information and documents, fully and comprehensively cooperate with the EC to provide information and documents in accordance with the prescribed format and time limit, and regularly coordinate and provide information to receive timely support from the Trade Defense Department.
