The zero-dong booth of doctors and nurses in the mountainous region of Quang Ngai has supported the poor in the mountainous region for the past 6 years.

In 2019, the “Zero-dong booth” by the Youth Union of Son Tay District Medical Center officially opened near the campus of the District Medical Center. This is a place to share essential items such as milk, baby diapers, fish sauce, cooking oil, clothes, etc. by doctors and nurses of the District Medical Center and Quang Ngai province to help share the difficulties with patients, relatives of patients being treated and people in the mountainous area of Son Tay.

Sharing about the program idea, specialist doctor Pham Huu Nghia, Son Tay District Medical Center, said that, stemming from witnessing too many cases of patients coming for treatment with difficult circumstances, with the desire to share the hardship with patients, the doctors and nurses set up this booth.

According to the doctors, many mothers come to Son Tay District Medical Center to give birth but often lack the necessary items for newborns. Therefore, the team of doctors and nurses has prepared enough baby clothes and diapers from the "Zero-dong booth" to give to the mothers. In addition, relatives of the mothers can also come to the booth to receive clothes and milk support.

The zero-dong stall of the doctors and nurses is known by many benefactors. There are people from Quang Ngai City, more than 80km away from Son Tay District, who also come to donate used clothes and necessities to the stall. After receiving them, the doctors and nurses divide them up to wash and arrange them neatly in the stall so that patients and relatives can easily choose.

Dr. Huynh Thi Thuan, Deputy Director of Quang Ngai General Hospital, and other benefactors regularly support the booth with diapers, milk, and baby clothes, helping mothers in mountainous areas overcome difficulties due to the lack of essential items after giving birth, especially in the context of limited economic conditions and difficult transportation. In particular, the Hematology Department (Provincial General Hospital) regularly donates old clothes and necessities to the booth twice a year.
