Traditional education, arousing national pride

In Hung Yen, a land rich in revolutionary tradition, traditional education for students is being carried out in creative, profound and emotional ways. These activities not only help students understand the history of the nation but also arouse pride, foster patriotism and a sense of responsibility towards their homeland and country.

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), nearly 1,200 students of Tran Quoc Tuan High School participated in the province-wide flag-raising ceremony and arranged the map of Vietnam on August 29 at the school. Teacher Pham Thi Bich Ngoc, Vice Principal of the school, said: This is an activity to educate tradition and national pride, helping students to deeply engrave the sacred image of the Fatherland, foster patriotism and awareness of protecting territorial sovereignty . At the same time, it demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, as each student is a "piece" that together creates the map of the country, thereby nurturing the responsibility of the young generation towards the mountains and rivers of Vietnam.

Over the years, traditional education has always been emphasized by the school through flag-raising ceremonies, extracurricular activities, traditional talks and integration into each subject.

Many parents expressed their impression and emotion at the traditional educational activities at the school. Ms. Tran Thi Lan, whose child is studying at Yen Phu Kindergarten (Viet Yen commune) shared: The children participated in decorating the classroom, wearing red flags with yellow stars, and accompanied the teacher to burn incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs. I was very moved when I saw the children listening attentively, preparing flowers and burning incense to commemorate the martyrs. These activities help children develop a love for their homeland and country and appreciate the contributions of previous generations.

Along with Tran Quoc Tuan High School and Yen Phu Kindergarten, many schools promote traditional education through activities such as "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember its source" and practical experiences at military units. Practical activities such as visiting and giving gifts to policy families and heroic Vietnamese mothers; cleaning martyrs' cemeteries; organizing journeys to the source... are organized regularly, spreading profound human values and helping students better understand the responsibilities of today's generation. Many schools also coordinate with military units to organize tours for students to learn about life, practice the style and discipline of soldiers. Nguyen Minh Tam, a student at Nguyen Thien Thuat High School, said: Through the lectures of teachers and extracurricular activities to learn about history, I clearly feel the fierceness of war and the losses of previous generations. Recently, I wore a red flag with a yellow star to participate in the national walking activity "Moving forward with Vietnam". I am very moved and proud to be the descendant of national heroes. I tell myself to study better and live more responsibly to be worthy of that sacrifice.

Accompanying schools in extracurricular activities, many veterans directly told stories, interacted, and passed on the tradition. After meeting students of Bac Duyen Ha High School, veteran Pham Van Lai (who planted the liberation flag on the water tower of Tan Son Nhat airport at 9:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975) confided: Seeing the children eager to learn about history, I feel very happy. They not only want to understand the past, but also learn lessons to build the future. The pride and responsibility of today's young generation is the great hope of the nation.

Traditional educational activities not only help the young generation better understand the history of the struggle for national independence, but also act as a link between the past and the present, fostering gratitude, arousing the will to rise up and the responsibility to build the homeland and country to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
