In about a week, along with more than 1 million candidates nationwide, 108,573 candidates from Hanoi will enter the 2024 High School Graduation Exam.
With a large number of candidates, equal to 1/10 of the total number of candidates nationwide, the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Exam in Hanoi City promptly deployed its tasks, directed the Steering Committees of localities to prepare conditions in terms of facilities and human resources, and determined to organize the exam safely and smoothly, ensuring maximum benefits for candidates.
Thorough and comprehensive review
The 2024 high school graduation exam will take place on June 27-28 with 5 exams including: Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language, Natural Science Combination (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Science Combination (History, Geography, Civic Education ). Candidates can choose one of two combination exams.
With a large number of candidates taking the exam, the Steering Committee for the Hanoi High School Graduation Exam determined that organizing the exam safely and seriously at all stages is very important because this is an important exam, and even a small mistake will cause unpredictable consequences.
Therefore, immediately after the end of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year on June 8 and 9, the entire Hanoi Education and Training sector immediately started preparing facilities and human resources to organize the 2024 High School Graduation Exam with high determination.
According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Examinations and Admissions of Quoc Oai District Hoang Nguyen Ung, there are 6 examination sites in the district, with 132 official examination rooms and more than 2,900 candidates.
The testing sites are all located at schools with spacious facilities, ensuring security, safety, compliance with regulations, adequate means and convenience for candidates to travel.
Up to now, all the preparation steps for the exam have been completed by the Quoc Oai District Exam Steering Committee, ensuring clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities. The members of the Steering Committee clearly understand the specific tasks and proactively meet the requirements throughout the exam.
“The District Steering Committee has been implementing the preparation for the exam early. Although the 10th grade entrance exam has just ended safely and seriously, we will not neglect the preparation work. We will continue to review carefully until June 24, which is only two days before the candidates come to the exam site to complete the procedures,” Mr. Hoang Nguyen Ung added.
Having just completed the 10th grade entrance exam, Cau Giay High School (Cau Giay district) continues to be used as a high school graduation exam site in 2024.
Vice Principal of Cau Giay High School Dinh Thi Nga said the school has 26 official exam rooms, 2 waiting rooms, and 2 backup exam rooms.
The school has fully prepared facilities and equipment for organizing exams, paying special attention to the security camera system and cabinets for storing exam papers and exam papers.
Proactively respond to situations
The 2024 High School Graduation Exam is the final exam under the 2006 General Education Program. The exam results are used to recognize students' graduation and are also used by universities for admission.
With that meaning, the Hanoi City Examination Steering Committee, districts, towns, and schools all pay special attention and seriously implement plans to ensure the organization of the exam is safe, serious, and transparent, including proactively responding to sudden and unusual situations that occur during the exam.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Exam of Hanoi City, Vu Thu Ha, said that with the spirit of not being subjective, the city will carefully review all conditions for organizing the exam, develop solutions to respond to sudden and unusual situations to proactively have timely handling plans, ensuring the best interests of candidates.
The City Examination Steering Committee requested localities to focus on taking care of candidates' health, ensuring traffic safety and responding to unusual situations caused by natural disasters and epidemics.
According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Examinations and Admissions of Me Linh District, Le Van Khuong, the district has 5 official examination sites and 3 backup examination sites with nearly 2,900 candidates.
Although these are schools that have just been requisitioned as 10th grade entrance exam sites, the District Steering Committee is not subjective and still carefully reviews all conditions for organizing the exam.
The Steering Committee has requested the district police force to proactively develop plans to protect locations in the district to ensure absolute safety; coordinate with the Economic Department, People's Committees of communes, towns and schools to have plans and solutions to prevent and fight fires at exam locations during exam days, and to clear traffic congestion and other incidents such as storms, floods, and fires at exam locations during exam days...
Ms. Tran Thi Na, a teacher at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Bac Tu Liem District), said that although she has many years of experience in proctoring exams, for each exam, she still carefully studies the exam regulations and specific instructions on the proctoring process, including plans to handle unusual situations so as not to fall into a state of confusion that affects the psychology of the candidates.
Hanoi has 108,573 candidates registered to take the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, including more than 4,500 independent candidates. Hanoi has arranged more than 4,500 exam rooms at 196 exam locations in 30 districts, towns and cities.
The city mobilized 15,115 officials, teachers and staff to participate in exam invigilation, and nearly 600 officials and teachers to participate in exam marking.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training mobilized 566 officials and teachers to inspect the exam invigilation work at exam sites; established a Team to supervise the activities of the Inspection Team consisting of 14 groups, each group has 3 members who are leaders and experts from the Department of Education and Training, the City Inspectorate.../.
The highest benchmark score of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities is the Literature class with 8 points, followed by the History class with 7.5 points and the Geography class with 7 points.
