That beautiful friendship is the story of two friends Ton Nu Thi Mo and Huynh Giau (both students of class 12C4, Dang Tran Con High School, Phu Xuan district, Hue city).

After a traffic accident in October 2019, Mo was paralyzed on one side, unable to walk, and had to use a wheelchair.

Since then, Mo’s life has completely changed. The innocent, passionate steps of the young girl were replaced by the quiet rotation of a wheelchair.

But luckily, in the journey to continue writing the young girl's dream, there is always a silent classmate standing behind the wheelchair, taking her to the lecture hall and to the places she wants to go.

The beautiful friendship of Mo and Giau

Four years after the accident, Mo decided to return to school to continue her journey to the future. For her, her school days were not only a journey of learning, but also a journey to find joy.

From the first days Mo returned to school until now, Huynh Giau has always been the one standing behind the wheelchair, silently accompanying her throughout the journey.

Mo shared that in addition to supporting her to go to class every day, Giau also always helps her in extracurricular activities and group study sessions. No matter the circumstances, Giau is always the one who stays until the end.

"We're used to it. Every time there's an activity, Giau is always the one who pushes me - from the schoolyard to the classroom, and today to the exam site," Mo said emotionally.

When asked about his energetic and optimistic friend, Giau shared: "Mo is a very strong person, always caring about other people's feelings. I help Mo not for any purpose. I simply want to be the motivation for her to overcome difficulties, adversity and continue writing her dream."

Enter the teacher training college to continue together

Mo once dreamed of becoming a tour guide to be able to explore and learn more about the culture of the beloved ancient capital. However, an unexpected accident caused her life to change direction. The unfinished dream had to be put aside, giving way to a difficult reality.

After many days of hesitation, I decided to apply to Hue University of Education, partly because I wanted to study near home, and partly to reduce the financial burden on my family.

Mo said that after hours of intense studying, she and Giau often sat together to confide and share their plans for the future. During one conversation, Mo was surprised and touched when Giau gently said: "After I go to university, Giau will continue to push Mo to go to school."

After hearing that Mo wanted to take the entrance exam to the Pedagogical University, Giau did not hesitate to fill in the school's information on his application form, with the hope of continuing to accompany his close friend on new journeys.

"I chose Hue University of Education partly because I really love history. But more than anything, I want to continue to accompany Mo to keep my promise to push Mo to university," Giau shared.

Talking about her two students, Ms. Van Thi Hoai - homeroom teacher of class 12C4, Dang Tran Con High School - said that it was a very beautiful friendship of student life.

Ms. Hoai said that Giau and Mo are two extremely close friends. Both are good students, learn well and have extraordinary determination.

"Mo is an extremely hard-working person. Regardless of the weather, she still goes to school regularly. Giau is an emotional person and always cares about her friends' feelings. In almost every class or activity at school, I always see Giau standing behind Mo's wheelchair," Ms. Hoai shared.

On the journey ahead, there will certainly be many challenges. But with determination, sharing and strong friendship, Mo and Giau are together continuing to write a dream that is not just their own.
