Urgent upgrade of aquaculture infrastructure in Ky Khang and Hai Ninh

(Baohatinh.vn) - Although there are many advantages for aquaculture, due to degraded and unsynchronized infrastructure, people in Ky Khang commune and Hai Ninh ward (Ha Tinh) are producing extensively with low efficiency.

The concentrated aquaculture area of ​​Son Tay, Son Bac, Tan Tho (Ky Khang commune) has a scale of 60 hectares, invested in construction since 2005.

Due to its proximity to the river, this area is considered to have many advantages in aquaculture, especially shrimp farming. In fact, the farming area has been invested in a transformer station and a part of the low-voltage line to ensure electricity production for half of the area with 50 households farming in the form of extensive farming.

Over time, the traffic system, regional embankments, and earthen canal system have been eroded a lot, the main supply and drainage canals are still used together... not meeting the conditions for intensive aquaculture and the application of science and technology, so epidemics often occur and economic efficiency is low.

To ensure synchronous production infrastructure, as a basis for the conversion to high-tech intensive farming, and as a model for aquaculture development in the province, it is extremely necessary to invest resources to build and upgrade synchronous infrastructure for farming areas.

It is known that currently, the People's Committee of Ky Khang commune has proposed that the competent authority pay attention to investing in the construction of 2 sluices across Ky Tho dike for the farming area, including replacing 1 combined drainage and flood drainage sluice and 1 water supply sluice for the farming area; building a main road to serve the modernization of farming technology with a length of 4.9km and 2.7km of internal road; building 2km of low-voltage power lines; building 7.7km of supply and drainage canals and planning, dredging, and renovating 2 clusters of settling and discharge ponds for the whole area.

Also falling into a similar situation is the concentrated aquaculture area in Trung Hai residential area, Hai Ninh ward.

This is a concentrated aquaculture area with a scale of 74 hectares, the third largest in the province with many advantages in aquaculture development, bringing high economic value to the people.

However, through actual surveys, it shows that the shared infrastructure system for farming areas has not been invested synchronously.

Roads and electricity are not available for production, and supply and drainage channels are still shared, leading to many risks of disease and not meeting the conditions for intensive aquaculture and application of science and technology.

Therefore, to ensure conditions for people and investors to be able to switch to high-tech intensive farming, investment in project construction is necessary.

Hai Ninh Ward People's Committee has proposed that the province pay attention to investment resources for 5 intra-regional production routes with a length of 3.78km; a water supply canal system with a length of 8.22km; 8 wastewater drainage canals with a length of 3.92km; a cluster of 2 settling ponds; 3 650KVA transformer stations...

Implementing the Prime Minister 's Decision 467 on investing in the projects "Construction and upgrading of fisheries logistics facilities" and the project "Restoration and regeneration of aquatic ecosystems and aquatic resources" in 4 central provinces, using compensation money from Formosa Hung Nghiep Iron and Steel Company Limited, recently, the People's Committees of Ky Khang commune and Hai Ninh ward have issued documents proposing competent authorities to pay attention, prioritize selection and decide on infrastructure investment for 2 aquaculture areas. If selected for infrastructure investment, it will create conditions for localities to exploit potentials and advantages to develop aquaculture, create stable jobs, thereby increasing income for people.
